HelioHost Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Hi there, How much money do I need to pay for getting a Tommy invitation? Regards, Ataro.
Bailey Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 You just need to donate, as far as Im aware there is no minimum but I would donate at least $1 (as a minimum), then post the transaction ID along with your cPanel account username so the admins can transfer your existing account over to the Tommy server if you have an existing account. Or If you dont have an account an email should be sent to you within 24 hours after donating with a link that allows you to sign up.. 1
HelioHost Posted October 15, 2017 Author Posted October 15, 2017 Thanks for replying. I do have a Johnny account that has been archived due to inactivity. DoTommy accounts also have the inactivity limitation? Also, if any administrator read this, please unarchive my account on Johnnysince I cannot even log in to the forum in order to request this. My username is atarohel. Regards, Ataro.
Bailey Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Yes, Tommy does have the inactivity limit but all you need to do in login to your cPanel every 30 days, simply set a reminder or somthing. And Im sure the admins will unarchive and transfer your account for you, but dont forget they will need your transaction ID for the transfer.
HelioHost Posted October 15, 2017 Author Posted October 15, 2017 How do I send the transaction ID to the admins?
Bailey Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 Just post it on the forms (or start a new email topic) that includes your username, transaction ID and the server you wish to move to. Its then escalated and sorted pretty swiftly! And you asked about the inactivity limit:Users on the Tommy server will now receive an email several days before your account is flagged inactive letting you know that you will need to log in to prevent your website(s) from going offline. We understand that once your website is perfected it's easy to forget that you need to log in to your control panel, but we need a way to tell which accounts are still being used and which have been abandoned. That's why we require monthly log ins. Since Tommy is our flagship production server the websites he hosts are extra important to keep online without any interuption. We think this early warning will help HelioHost users keep their uptime high. After we've tested this new feature on Tommy thoroughly we will be implementing it on Ricky and Johnny as well. Some of our oldest users might remember that we used to have email warnings like this years ago, but as our internal systems were upgraded and evolved the inactivity warnings were broken. We think this is a great feature to get working again because we understand the frustration of having our websites going offline. Let us know if you have any issues with the new emails or if you have any questions.
Krydos Posted October 15, 2017 Posted October 15, 2017 You should now be able to log in to your Johnny account at https://www.heliohost.org/login/ and your website should start working within 24 hours. If you make a donation you can just reply to the email with the transaction ID of the donation and I'd be happy to move your account for you off Johnny.
HelioHost Posted October 16, 2017 Author Posted October 16, 2017 Hi, Thanks for unarchiving my account.BTW, is the Tommy server response quicker to web requests? Because Johnnyresponses are very slow. Regards, Ataro.
wolstech Posted October 16, 2017 Posted October 16, 2017 Tommy and Ricky are both much faster. There are times where it can be a bit slow (primarily during Apache restarts), but this slowness only lasts ~1 minute compared to the hours on Johnny. Once you've tried Tommy or Ricky, you won't want to go back to Johnny.
