HelioHost Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Hello, Yesterday I created an account under the name verhoef. I wanted to check the status, but I never got in with my account and password.I tried it again today, but still didn't succeed. I want to creat it new, but that the site tells me the name is already given... How can I activate my account 'verhoef'? Regards, Victor Verhoef
Byron Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Your account is active. Your username contains 2 v's like this: vverhoef
HelioHost Posted June 13, 2017 Author Posted June 13, 2017 Hello, Thank you for your quick reply. I created the vverhoef tonight because I wa=nted to know if I had to wait again as long as yesterday. That was passed v=ery quickly, so somewhere my account verhoef isn't approved and I don't kno=w how I get that active... -----Oorspronkelijk bericht-----Van: Heliohost Support [mailto:support@heliohost.org]=20Verzonden: dinsdag 13 juni 2017 03:20Aan: vicje@hotmail.comOnderwerp: Re: [Hh#78209] Creating Account Your account is active. Byron Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 The account verhoef didn't get created and I'm not sure why. Are you alright with using the account vverhoef?
wolstech Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 The original verhoef account failed because the domain did not contain a TLD suffix. You put verhoef, but you needed to put verhoef.heliohost.org or a normal domain that you own. 1
HelioHost Posted June 13, 2017 Author Posted June 13, 2017 So now I can't use verhoef anymore or only under other circumstances...? -----Oorspronkelijk bericht-----Van: Heliohost Support [mailto:support@heliohost.org]=20Verzonden: dinsdag 13 juni 2017 03:41Aan: vicje@hotmail.comOnderwerp: Re: [Hh#78209] Creating Account The original verhoef account failed because the domain did not contain a TL=D suffix. wolstech Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 Seeing you already have an account now, you'd have to delete that one first (you're only allowed one account). After that, we'd need to delete/rename the forum account for verhoef (which succeeded), then you would need to wait for Tommy to be available and sign up again. If you want, I can change the domain on your vverhoef account to verhoef.heliohost.org so visitors don't use the extra V, but the username to log into cPanel would remain vverhoef. Do you want me to do this instead?
HelioHost Posted June 13, 2017 Author Posted June 13, 2017 Hello, That would be a great solution, so if you want to change that, it will suff=ice for me (vverhoef and domain verhoef.heliohost.org). wolstech Posted June 13, 2017 Posted June 13, 2017 The domain has been changed. It might take a little while to start working though, so give it an hour or two if it comes up queued.
HelioHost Posted June 14, 2017 Author Posted June 14, 2017 Thank you, it is worlking indeed.=20I can create a site with Site Publisher, but what if I want to upload my ow=n content?I did that, but somehow my (in frontpage created html's) will not be reacha=ble... -----Oorspronkelijk bericht-----Van: Heliohost Support [mailto:support@heliohost.org]=20Verzonden: dinsdag 13 juni 2017 16:36Aan: vicje@hotmail.comOnderwerp: Re: [Hh#78209] Creating Account It's working for me http://verhoef.heliohost.org/ You may view the status of your ticket by visiting: http://www.helionet.org/index/index.php?showtopic=3D28369 Thank you,Heliohost supporthttp://www.heliohost.org/http://www.helionet.org/
Krydos Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 For some reason you deleted your public_html file, and replaced it with a file named Public_html with some html inside it. The way this works is anything you put in the public_html folder will be shown to anyone who visits your site. Since you deleted it people who visit your site will see an error saying it can't be found. I recreated the public_html folder for you, and moved your Public_html file in there and renamed it index.html. Let us know if you have any other questions.
wolstech Posted June 14, 2017 Posted June 14, 2017 Filenames are case-sensitive on Linux servers, so Public_html and public_html are not the same folder. Deleting the public_html folder also causes permissions issues too that you won't be able to fix. If you want to remove content, the best practice is to delete the files inside the folder, but leave the empty folder itself and reuse it for new content.
HelioHost Posted June 14, 2017 Author Posted June 14, 2017 Thanks for the effort. It works now.=20I replaced public_html for another 'first page', but in the run I probably =threw away the wrong thing.=20I uploaded some stuff and it is working.
