About Dedicated Ip Address

Whenever Visiting the CP SSL/TSL module, I always get the folliwing notice:

 

Note: You do not have a dedicated IP address. As a result, web browsers that do not support SNI will probably give false security warnings to your users when they access any of your SSL websites. Microsoft® Internet Explorer™ on Windows XP™ is the most widely used web browser that does not support SNI.

 

Please tell me:

• Why on Tommy we don't have dedicated IPs
• Is it possible to get dedicated IP for our domains?
• If so, HOW?

If you want a dedicated ip you may buy one for $12 per year.

It's worth noting however that IE8 on Windows XP is horribly outdated now. Firefox and Chrome on XP, and all current browsers on all newer desktop OSes support SNI, as do all recent iOS and Android devices. Unless you're building something that's expected to be used by lots of users with old PCs, or you have other reasons to want a dedicated IP (availability, etc.), you likely don't need it.
