djzebbie Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Let's Encrypt is an open-source project from the Electronic Frontier Foundation to promote simplified decentralized encryption on the Internet. According to this forum post, HelioHost is not in there, but the thread does mention that cPanel is working on an implementation. So, will HelioHost support Let's Encrypt as soon as cPanel finishes work on the feature? Will it be included in an update?
Byron Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 This support request is being escalated to Krydos.
wolstech Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 While we wait for an official response from krydos, I'll add my input. Stevie will likely never support it, at least for free, since his OS cannot support SNI (required for SSL without dedicated IP). This also got asked in one of the Tommy threads, and I believe the answer there was that tommy will eventually support it, though probably not at release. Johnny will probably end up being like tommy, seeing he needs to be rebuilt anyway...
Krydos Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Stevie and Tommy already supports Let's Encrypt. Stevie does not support SNI so you need to purchase a dedicated IP from Heliohost in order to install the Let's Encrypt certificate. Tommy supports SNI so you can install the Let's Encrypt certificate on a shared IP for free.
