erichoog Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Can someone help me on this: After I deleted my homepage and replaced a backup of my websitie via cPanel and now get this message when I try to enter my site or my administrator account. You don't have permission to access / on this server.Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. What do I do wrong?
yashrs Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Your "public_html" folder should have permissions 750. Set those permissions. Check if it works out.
erichoog Posted July 28, 2014 Author Posted July 28, 2014 @Rank: I just checked and the folder already has these permissions ...
yashrs Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Do you mind if I login to your account and fix it (I will have to change password for that)?
yashrs Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Problem temporarily solved. I changed the permissions of "www" to 751 and it worked, though the ideal is that it should be 750. An administrator can fix that. Also, I have mailed you the password which I had changed.
erichoog Posted July 28, 2014 Author Posted July 28, 2014 Thanks!!Do I have to take somekind of action now (because you write 'an adminsitartor can fix that')?
yashrs Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 This support request is being escalated to our root admin.
erichoog Posted July 28, 2014 Author Posted July 28, 2014 Clear. By the way, until now I didn't receive your mail...(My site works and I have access to my administrator account again ;-)
yashrs Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Yeah, the mail was not sent for some reason from the email client. I sent it now. Check your mail and let me know if you received it.
Krydos Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Ok, your public_html directory has the proper permissions and ownership. Let us know if you need help with anything else.
