  1. Sorry for the gravedigging, but I actually find this topic to be very interesting. Deciding is nothing more but an illusion. Why? Every single choice you make is the effect of a complex chemical reaction (at a neurological level) which takes into consideration past events and so on. Technically speaking, you have as much power to decide as the people inside a movie. You're just moving along watching the events unfold around you. Same for other influences, we can't EVER make a choice "on our own" since there are a million different factors that are considered when making that decision. Even for the smallest things, you will always take into consideration a multitude of factors. If you take the words for their literal meaning, you never quite make "your own" decisions. On a simple line of thought though, I believe the moment you learn anything, you are making a decision, the moment you are guided by knowledge and not instinct. It'd be hard to draw the line, but it's only after a couple weeks of birth I'd believe. On the other hand, making decisions properly and evaluating outcomes fully are only established until about age 15 as a minimum, while some people may never achieve that level of though.
  2. Hmm... I think Russians are the best, followed by the hot Brazilians/Argentinians. Yummy
  3. ^ Correct. I also don't believe in a flashy apocalypse... my bet would go to nuclear holocaust, in any case.
  4. http://www.psp-hacks.com/ That's a nice place too. Overall, I like emulating GBA with my PSP. Not gonna go in-depth as to why the PSP isn't quite my handheld of choice, but pumping it with emulators does the trick
  5. Then again, doesn't dragging out the war allow for increased funds? I'm guessing that's what those involved are into, in any case. And for all I know, didn't the US go to war without permission from the UN?
  6. I've been using office 2003 for... forever. It has all the features I need (Mainly Autosave) without consuming huge amounts of RAM and Disk Space. I kinda test-drove the new office UI, but was un-impressed. It's just gimmicky, kinda like Windows Vista.
  7. A teacher asks her class, "If there are five birds sitting on a fence and you shoot one of them, how many will be left?" She calls on little Johnny. "None, they all fly away with the first gunshot." The teacher replies, "The correct answer is four, but I like your thinking." Then Little Johnny says, "I have a question for YOU. There are three women sitting on a bench having ice cream. One is delicately licking the sides of the triple scoop of ice cream. The second is gobbling down the top and sucking the cone. The third is biting off the top of the ice cream. Which one is married?" The teacher, blushing a great deal, replies, "Well I suppose the one that's gobbled down the top and sucked the cone." "The correct answer is the one with the wedding ring on... but I like your thinking." XD
  8. Is there an AdBlock Plus for Safari? That's be all I need to switch
  9. Windows Live does it well for me. Just as well as GMail and even better. I just have a folder called "archived" where I select and move all my old e-mails to. Sure, it's not as good as the proper "archived" button, but never in my life have I gone above 25mb. I even remember back when it has 2mb. It's pretty neat, despite being a Microsoft product, MSN Messenger keeps me going
  10. Yeah, that's probably some rouge service installed under that name so it's more discrete. If it is possible, run your PC in safe mode, that should stop the rogue process from starting up. Then either search for it, or run an AV to solve the issue.
  11. Well, I found an alternate link: http://around-the-world1.blogspot.com/2007...o-buy-1000.html I never knew houston was in the UK, but w/e. And it's only for the first 1000 roaches, so they're only forking out $250 Nyah-nyah
  12. The creepy part is regarding the Bibles. My shot in the dark is that Benoit realized that there was something awfully wrong, either with himself or his family, so in his deranged state he "put them out of their misery" and had hopes of meeting them in heaven (Thus, the Bibles.) I'm grasping at straws, and I'm sure nobody can even have a glimpse of what was going through his mind while doing it. The man was obviously deranged, but I can kind-of see where he was coming from. Not saying the murder was justified or anything, just saying that he wasn't as evil/totally deranged as some may think.
  13. I just think I have to say something on this regarding the Bible. There are basically two whole tomes regarding "love" (As in yourself, one another and God) and about two or three conflicting sentences that prohibit gay relationships. I know Christian Marriage is sacred, so I do feel saddened when I see it reduced to something that is against the natural order. Nonetheless, marriage has decayed so vastly, to the point divorce is pretty common (I recall hearing it was at about 40% in the US), I don't see why two people, regardless of gender who love one another and wish to spend their life together should be denied that right. Personally, I don't mind gay people. It's not that "they don't affect me" because indifference is only a step away from hatred. Being the straight person I am, I find it a bit unsettling to see two men make out, but I'm just guessing the same applies in reverse, anyways. Overall, I think that the Government is between the sword and the stone. Allowing Gay marriage will simply anger Christian groups, while banning it will anger Gays. I don't feel it is the Government who should have a say in this, but the church. If two men/women wish to have a civil union, I see no reason to stop them from doing so. Regarding the church though, it gets a tad more complicated.
  14. Well, Hi to all, my name is Rodrigo. I don't think I need to say the only reason I'm posting here is for the credits and a brand new webhost, but I see hope in this community Unlike many other forums I've been through, I can see an actual display of intelligence, which is nice So, hello to you all!
  15. Personally... I'm half way through. Logic tells me that the existence of a God and it's implications (mainly afterlife) are definitely scientifically un-sound. On the other hand, I find much relief believing that a God does exist, and I'd rather live my life that way. Kind of like "ignorance is bliss". The only thing to consider is this: The Bible isn't exactly helpful to proving that God exists or not. It is but a book made by man who has most certainly been tampered with through all history. Just because you can disprove the Bible and it's claims (Which I feel urged to say that the Bible is just a collection of anecdotes that resume in "love", not a science textbook) doesn't mean you disproved God. It's sole existence is paradoxical, there is absolutely no way to either prove or disprove the existence of God, which is where the concept of faith kicks in
  16. Well... define "messed up" . For me lsass runs as system, and I can see how it being otherwise can cause trouble. Since it's lsass running as a system process, you can't terminate it or do anything about it for all I know, I've yet to encounter that problem. Worst case scenario, it would involve re-installing windows. Since I'm not sure how "messed up" the PC is, all I suggest is grab a copy of BartPE or some other OS you can run live and backup all your data. This is just worst case scenario, anyways. I'm sure with a bit more information I could help you better
  17. I for one prefer FireFox. It looks nicer than IE7, for all I know it's safer, and has many features I use and abuse on a daily basis: -AdBlock and the extension -Spellcheck -Greasemonkey Ad Infinitum. Only flaw I see with it is the massive amounts of RAM consumed... other than, it's overall a wise choice.
