Hi all, I have a page located at http://customers.iceitsupport.net/howardstreet/index.php that returns this issue: All password settings are correct and the user exists and has been assigned to the database. I tried connecting by using the host 'stevie.heliohost.org' and putting '%' in the remote mysql box, but the issue persists. Thanks! P.S. You may enter 'lab' in the username field. No passwords are required.

I would reccomend klswxa's method. Byron's method simply redirects forum.mydomain.com to username.heliohost.org. If you don't want to add forum.mydomain.com to HelioHost, you can create an HTML file in forum.mydomain.com that uses the <iframe> tag to point to username.heliohost.org. This will display forum.mydomain.com in the address bar.

I've been with HelioHost for a few years (although my HelioNet account says otherwise) and they are awesome. Granted, you will experience a few bumps, but they always come back stronger and better before.

Never mind, I just switched my email to google apps. But when trying to edit A and CNAME records under the advanced editor, cPanel said I don't have permissions to access feature. Could this be related to misset permissions on /var? P.S. I apologize if I should have created a seperate support request for this. I can do so if you would like me to.

On /var or on my account files? I checked my account files, and they appear to have the right permissions.

Is it possible to add POP/SMTP monitoring as well? When I use my port scanner, it says these ports are up but Roundcube says that it can't connect to SMTP server. It would be nice to know the true status of the services and I'm sure it would help the admins in diagnosing such issues. This is only a suggestion, you don't have to do this if you don't want to. Nice service, by the way! I use it all the time, it is extremely useful. Thank you so much!

It's too bad there weren't many entries. I would of entered mine, but all the advanced programming is in a password-secured zone... Perhaps we could do another competition in a few months, and create a banner for it that would be placed at the top of the HelioNet & HelioHost sites.

Microsoft isn't completely horrible, it just costs a lot and there are plenty of free alternatives. I only use Microsoft because I have access to free software and the only reason I don't use Linux is because anything beyond the basic web browsing requires a bunch of code to do. Some people might say I'm spoiled, but I think it could be made a little easier to install and run programs.

Thanks for the reply! I'd love to try FreeBSD, but does it act the same as Windows Server? I'm only using Microsoft because I have a free copy I got. Perhaps I could try FreeBSD on a virtual machine.

Hello all, I am launching a new server running Windows Server 2008 R2. My plan is to have one host maching and one or more virtual machines. One of the services I will be running is Active Directory. Should I install this service on the host machine or on a virtual machine? Thanks!

Have you looked into a program such as LiveZilla? It opens in a seperate window, but it is free and build in PHP, so it should run here.

Hi, I have noticed a lot of people have been having SSL certificates installed. I have been considering this as well. I am aware that you need a dedicated IP, but I was wondering if it is possible to generate a certificate yourself in cPanel? Thanks! P.S. Oops! Sorry about that! I found a less complicated script that ran for a while then it started giving errors as well. I then cleared my cache and it works for now.

I was just recently reading the suspended account page and notice the link to the renew script is outdated. Also, it mentions one of the reasons the account may have been suspended is because more bandwidth was used than the allotted amount. There is no bandwidth limit, so I thought maybe that line could be removed or changed. Just thought I would point this out!

Hi, I would like to make an RSS feed reader on my site using PHP. I tried using the W3School's tutorial (http://www.w3schools.com/Php/php_ajax_rss_reader.asp), but I don't want users to select an rss feed. I tried to modify the scripts myself, but PHP returned multiple errors. I have tried a few RSS widgets such as Google and Feedwind, but they either didn't display the feed or didn't display the text correctly. I searched Softaculous as well, but the RSS scripts they have doesn't provide the functionality I am looking for.
