The account should be activated. Check again; make sure you type your username in lowercase.

The problem is probably that we don't have VB binaries compiled. Try adding the following in between the <body> tags and see if it works: <% Response.Write("Hello World"); %>

We used to have ads, but there are a number of problems with them:They are hard to implement in the form of a script in combination with suPHP and suExec, who try to block all users from running scripts they'd don't own. They never make much money. I make much more money putting ads on the front page than on the 1,500 or so accounts we have. The only thing keeping HelioHost from being #1 in all the free hosting directories is the fact that we are still listed as forcing ads. By removing ads, we will become more popular, and as a result more people will visit our web page and click on our ads. Trust me: we'll make much more money this way Are those certificates trusted by most major operating systems? Yup, there is a "cPanel News" feature in cPanel/WHM for this. However, I rarely use it because most of the downtime we have is unexpected

WhoIs identification information is required by iCANN for all domain registrations. Doesn't ask me - it isn't my policy. And no, it will not be private. The information you give will be publicly disclosed - you can easily find WhoIs information on any domain with a quick Google search. No, you aren't allowed to give fake information.

Does taking out the vB language declaration help?
-
Oh, then you just need to add your home IP address to the allowed remote hosts list for MySQL. The option is in cPanel. Enter hostname:port for your host field. Your hostname is your main URL; find out your port by Googling the default cPanel MySQL port.

That's a question to ask Photobucket, not us HelioHost doesn't regulate much, and we certainly won't regulate something that has absolutely no bearing on our service.

You can do whatever you want with your bandwidth. Most people don't allow hotlinking because it saps their bandwidth - if you allow hotlinking and people do it, then your bandwidth will quickly run out. Or do you mean hotlinking HelioNet's images?

You're running MQB on your computer at home?
-
"localhost" should work. If it doesn't, then we have a problem. Are you at least able to connect? If yes, then what exactly are you trying to do? You won't be able to create databases; that functionality is limited by design to cPanel. I suggest you check with the MySQL Query Browser folks. They will probably know what's up with their application better than we will.

I have made a successful "Hello World" application here. Yes. Check your error online and see if anybody knows what it is coming from.

Can you do a DNS check next time that it doesn't work?
-
Your account has been unsuspended. Make sure that you only have one cron running per day from now on.
-
cPanel was checking if the domain was registered before adding it. I disabled that check. I figure that there's nothing wrong with somebody adding a domain that doesn't exist, anyways
-
Can you tell me your HelioHost username?
-
Great, I thought I fixed that. I'll try fixing it (again) when I get home.
-
The DNS not resolving error should only be happening on domains that were transferred from the old server. Let me know your domain and I'll check for it anyways. Also try connecting to ftp://heliohost.org - your username should work there.
-
Try adding the domain now.
-
You really ought you know that running that many cron jobs on that many accounts will destroy a server... But if you are willing to remove all but one cron job per day from your account, then I'll reenable it.
-
Hmmm... my guess is that cPanel checks with .cc to see if your domain is registered, when it should be checking .uni.cc. I'll try to see if there is a setting I can change to fix this when I get home.
-
Yah, that's what I've been hearing. Can you give me your friend's contact information? Also, is your friend the one that programmed the game you were hosting?
-
There were like 30 sites nearly identical to yours that were putting the server load near 20. In short, your site and others like it were rendering the server useless because of your cron jobs. Can you tell me how you got your account and who recommended HelioHost?
-
The new server is configured and getting ready to be shipped off. I'm nicknaming it "Stevie" Here are some pics:

Ad clicks on the front page. Honestly, hosting free users isn't too hard, considering the little amount of banwidth and disk space they require. Ads on the front page can usually make up the cost. You probably didn't use that username because of the 8-character username limit
