Our policy is typically to require the entire account be reset without a backup to destroy the contents before you can recover a hacked account (in case phishing or similar was set up and stolen information is present), though after looking through your account I don't see anything suspicious outside of the one domain that was compromised (lda.ng). Are you OK with deleting the contents of the domain lda.ng and the associated WP database to be unsuspended?

  6. Hello, i'm on the Morty plan and I got a mail from you yesterday that one of my sites that uses Wordpress was hacked and so my entire account has been suspended. I would like to request that my account be unsuspended as i have many other sites on it which are not affected and which rely on being online. I would appreciate it if the particular affected site is preferably brought down for maintenance but all my other sites which have been carefully curated and such are still left as they were. I look forward to your speedy intervention. I would also like to ask in future if it's possible in such cases that the specific site be suspended instead of suspending an entire account. Thanks.

  9. Your friend can do that themselves by logging into the account, selecting delete account, and then on the following screen, clicking the option to archive account instead of deleting it. If they do this, they'll also be able to restore the account themselves later without losing any data.

  15. We can reset your account for you. In order to reset your account we need to verify your email address. This is to make sure someone isn't pretending to be you to delete your data. The easiest way to verify your email is to send your reset request from the same email address listed in the top right corner of https://heliohost.org/dashboard/ while logged in.

I've been a big support of helio host for years, I remember when I started with you when there was no tommy or morty, and you were using cpanel, and very old scripts for domain changes and account deletions, now you guys I think are one of the best free web hosts around, I've even talked about helio host on my podcast a lot. I didn't know ubuntu 26 wasn't tested yet, that explains a lot of why the wrong username was created. Is there a way to fix that so I can use it? Is it possible to switch back to 24 or something?   18. It looks like you picked Ubuntu 26 which is very new, and hasn't been tested very thoroughly yet. It looks like there was a system error creating Ubuntu 26 VPS which was causing the wrong username to get created on the VPS. Thanks for helping us debug the newest OS. We'll get it fixed as soon as possible.

Next time, if it's more than 24 hours since you posted asking for help, please feel free to bump the request so it doesn't accidentally get overlooked. As for the request to suspend the other account: You're a longtime user and we've got no reason to suspect you're not being truthful. However, for security reasons we can't suspend Person 2's account when Person 1 asks us to, since we have no way of validating that Person 2 actually gave permission for the suspension. Your friend will have a forum account with the same username as their hosting account. Please have them create their own forum post to ask for the account to be suspended to preserve the account credits. Or, ask your friend to email us at support@heliohost.org from the same email address that's associated with their Morty account, asking us to suspend it. This will enable us to validate their identity and confirm they consent to the suspension of their account. Many thanks!
