Oh, that's interesting. Because I've tried connecting to the website on my desktop, laptop and two tablets. I wonder if it's my ISP? I don't know if I need to restart my modem/router. Edit: Oh no ... It really is my ISP

Hello, can you please add the following dns record to my site. type: txt hostname: @ data: protonmail-verification=8995d526f4c0470fc26d86dc9cbed9e6a8f0b538 Thank you

I've changed the main domain on your account from csierrae1815 to hotel.helioho.st and added the api subdomain. Please note that it may take up to 2 hours for your new domain to fully work. If after a full 2 hours it doesn't work on your side, please make sure you clear your web browser cache: https://wiki.helionet.org/Clear_Your_Cache Once it has been a full 2 hours, the httpdocs folder in your account will relate to the new hotel main domain. If you still run into issues connecting your git repo, please share a screenshot of the settings you're trying in Plesk's 'Create repository' window, so we can investigate this further for you. Please note there is a risk of data loss when main domains are changed, so I made a full backup for you before I made the changes, in case you need any files from the old maindomain. You can download the backup here: https://heliohost.org/backup If you're not sure how to extract the backup files, please follow our how-to guide here: https://wiki.helionet.org/Account_Backups If you're using Laravel, we recommend using the Plesk Laravel Toolkit, shown directly on the left side menu inside Plesk. We have some more guidance on Laravel on our technical documentation Wiki page at: https://wiki.helionet.org/Laravel that should be useful for you.

You can download the data we were able to recover here: https://heliohost.org/backup/ In your case, it looks like the backup is from 2024. Newer files may be available for your account, but newer databases will not be. Would you like me to have Krydos take a look? Directions for unpacking the backup are here: https://wiki.helionet.org/Account_Backups#How_to_Extract_Your_Account_Data_from_the_Backup_File After you unpack it, you'll manually rebuild your site using the data from the backup.

Your site loads for me, and has a valid SSL certificate. If you're still having issues, please can you share a screenshot of what's displayed when you check?

The .org domains are no longer available to users (they haven't been available for several years now), but users who had one were allowed to keep using it up until their account was deleted or until it was changed by the user. All Johnny users lost those domains during the crash because all Johnny accounts were deleted as a result of it. You can use the .us one and just upload the files into httpdocs like you normally would. Assuming your software is built decently, it shouldn't matter what domain you're using for it. Note that for some apps like Wordpress you may need to edit the database to change the domain in the settings table.

Hi there, On May 9th, I received an email stating: "we noticed Johnny was having issues, and powered him off to investigate. It turns out that a lot of files were missing, the master boot record was gone, and the partition table was destroyed. We managed to do some data recovery and then made backups of everything that was intact.". This email also stated that if I wanted, I could request that my website be brought back online as quickly as possible, offering me a free trial of Morty. This wasn't necessary, as waiting two or three weeks wouldn't be a problem and you explained that "If you're ok with your website being offline for a couple of weeks, no action is required of you, and you'll be able to stay on Johnny after the server is rebuilt.". Now that Johnny is online again, how can I recover my website and databases?

Greetings, I am using the Johnny service and selected a subdomain I wanted from a day or two ago. (Subdomain is https://greysky.helioho.st/ ) And loading the site gives me error code: SSL_ERROR_RX_RECORD_TOO_LONG I tried certain troubleshooting methods from this wiki page but no luck so far. I also tried removing cache from my browser and disabling my plug-ins as well. Plus I tried viewing the website on two additional web browsers as well. Thanks for taking the time to help.

I would like to choose specific domains(I'm using HelioHost's domains), please. Here are the names I want to add: Main domain (for Laravel hotel project): hotel.helioho.st Subdomain (for REST API): api.hotel.helioho.st
-
Do want a specific new domain and subdomain added, or do you want us to assign some random ones? If you want to decide yourself which domains are added, please provide the full addon domain name you want, including the top-level domain (TLD): - If you're using HelioHost's domains, specify either the-domain-you-want.helioho.st or the-domain-you-want.heliohost.us - If you've purchased a custom domain, specify the TLD (such as the-domain-you-want.com, the-domain-you-want.net, etc.)

alexandrepascoal started following Remote access to johnny postgresql database

Hello, I need to be able to access the PostgreSQL that I created remotely. Since, with the issues in the johnny service, the database was deleted. I already created the database and the user, but to add the data, I need to be able to access it remotely. Can someone be able to activate the remote access for the database created, please? And could inform the connection IP or domain that should be used to connect? db name: alexandrepascoal_eagleeye db username: alexandrepascoal_raptor Thank you for the time spent and for the service. Alexandre Pascoal

You should be able to open that file without the extension (it should be a .tar file without the extension, if whatever tool you're using won't open it, you can rename it and put a .tar on it so it will open). .tzst is a .tar inside of z-standard. The actual files you had in your home folder are inside that extensionless tar file. You then upload the actual files back into your home folder through the file manager or SFTP just like you did when you originally set your account up.
-
Invite sent. Recreating the account just gives an empty account, there is no automatic restore of any data. Escalating to Krydos to see what newer data is available for you.
-
Apologies, I've sent you by Personal Message another mail address to reactivate milano with. @Krydos "Newer files ... recoverable from the crashed server as well" would be very welcome of course, if not on restored into the file system anyway through recreating the account.

OK, the backup file is named 2026-05-15_pleskbackup-<username>.tar I unzip it and go into the folder called "domain" and then the folder named 'YourAccountUsername.helioho.st' in there I find 6 different .tzst files, and .xml file and a folder called ".discovered" which contains yet another subfolder with more files One of the 6 files in the folder named 'YourAccountUsername.helioho.st' is the file named 'backup_user-data_##########.tzst' As I follow the instructions in https://wiki.helionet.org/Account_Backups#Access_Your_Files I open the file named 'backup_user-data_##########.tzst' and find a file with the same name, but without any extension. With that it seems I have access to my user data, but I am still confused as to where I upload this in Plesk. The only instruction I seem find: "To restore a backup, you must first extract the backup file on your local machine, then upload the specific parts you need". Yes, but how upload what parts where in Plesk? Thankful for your support.

Since that domain is already on your account as the main domain, the only thing you need to do is set your domain's name servers at your registrar to ns1.heliohost.org and ns2.heliohost.org and the domain should work. Note that HelioHost is not a registrar (we're only a host). You need to set the name servers on the registrar's website where you purchased the domain.
-
Your account wasn't eligible for automatic recreate because it was suspended for a TOS violation (specifically, disposable email address) at the time of the crash. Per our Terms of Service, disposable email addresses are not allowed. Please provide a valid, non-disposable, email address so we can reinvite you. Krydos can assist with the backup piece. There is a backup from 2024-07-25 (the last Johnny crash) available for your account, and I suspect there may also be an archive from August 2024 that could be used as a backup too, since there was an unarchive event in the logs for it. Newer files (but not databases) may be recoverable from the crashed server as well.
-
As http://milano.heliohost.org had been active until just before this month's crash, and https://helionet.org/index/forum/91-email-support/ shows other subdomains getting 2024 backups as well for which support may have more recent files recoverable, if unsuspending the the account won't help, I'd also much appreciate whatever you can get from this year or the last.
