Dragonfire Posted August 4, 2006 Author Posted August 4, 2006 hey can you tell me that does adding a wireless router to your cable connection increase your speed i only know that it makes your connection wireless .. and is there any device that increases internet speed
tuwawah Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 I don't think adding a wireless router would increase your speed. If anything it would probably slow it down, as it would depend upon your 'connection' strength with your pc. I wish it did speed it up though!
Flashmedia Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 What question is that ? We all prefer high-speed stable connections at a cheap price. Dial-up .. NOT Broadband ... Maybe ...
Agent 47 Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 Yes high-speed rocks! Dial-up is a bit old I use Cable.
Kyougi Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 If you use dialup in the modern age, you'll be shot, or live in the middle of nowhere.
Dragonfire Posted September 9, 2006 Author Posted September 9, 2006 wer i liv .. yu get a 100kilobit connection for around 1500 (broadband) and ma cuzin from america get like connection in mbs.. i wish der was sum new technology tht allowed faster data transfer.. well i got a magazine in wich itz there tht ppl are almost complete with new technology allowing wireless data transfer much quicker in the ratio 1 : 15
1337 Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Broadband is fast, no limits, and 999x better, and the prices are dropping No wait, I am a dialup lover that loves to wait three to four hours downloading a 20MB file. </sarcasm>
Australian-Assault Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 Right i would definently prefer adsl2+ because u can get speeds of 24mbit down and 3mbit up. At the moment i have 1.5mbit down and 256kbit up. There is a very big difference to kilo bytes per second and kilo bits per second for example 256kbps means kilo bits per second. This can be really complex for people who dont know a thing about what i am talking about, but what i am trying to say is if your connection speed is 256kbps then you probobaly will only get a max of 25 kilo bytes per second download speed.
grim Posted October 17, 2006 Posted October 17, 2006 im using adsl 1500 download 256 upload heaps faster then a lot of internet connections where i live would never go back to dileup
Plug Computers Posted October 19, 2006 Posted October 19, 2006 Definately have to go with cable...althought that is broadband too..? your question was a little confusing. If you're still using 56k dial up I have great mercy for you. I think its time to upgrade..
Dragonfire Posted October 20, 2006 Author Posted October 20, 2006 hey, did you people hear about the new wifi device, really good, the other wifis transfer speeds are about 11 mbps in tht range and this ones is around 180mbps but da thing is that its really costly but still, in some time, wireless internet would be more famous so I would just get it then
interval Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Dialup is a dead technology where the infrastructure allows for anything else. DSL is a great idea, and has very low latency, but is highly dependent upon where you are in your neighbourhood (your distance to the access concentrator). Turns out I'm screwed in this house, the AC is too far away and I can't get anything above 2MB/s. So I'm probably going to go to cable, even if they say that it slows down during peak activity periods, it seems to have been much more reliable in general (based on my experience). At least in Ontario.
surfcss Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 Really stupid question... I think anyone would prefer an *always on, *high speed internet connection.
