interval Posted December 6, 2006 Posted December 6, 2006 This PC: Sh--. P4 2.2GHz, suffering with only 256MB RAM. PC I'll be designing for myself soon: 64-bit dual core Athlon processor Dual SCSI 10kRPM low-latency RAID0, size doesn't really matter, I want speed As much dual-channel DDR as the mobo can fit Gigabit ethernet I don't really care about graphics... I just want a generally fast box that I can program on, etc. Of course for these purposes this will be overkill, but I don't care
Dragonfire Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 the best processor would be the intel quad core extreme but im not sure when it is coming out.. right now id go for intel core 2 extreme
Quantum Media LLC Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 the best processor would be the intel quad core extreme but im not sure when it is coming out.. right now id go for intel core 2 extreme Does the intel support overclocking??? I wouldnt mind having one, but my amd supports over clocking and is pretty nice, just dont want to make a drastic change like that and not be able to overclock
surfcss Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Does the intel support overclocking??? Well technically the AMD's are being overclocked already seeing its the speed minus 1GHz. Overclocking further isn't wise.
Dragonfire Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 hey, what do you mean when you used the termed 'overclocked'. does it have something to do with the processor speed
