whoguesswho Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Hello, Received the email of the issue with the Johnny server, appreciate the email with the notice and the backup. I am wondering about the database, seems some were not able to be recovered and mine is not in the backup file, want to confirm if it is the case with it. While Johnny is rebuild, could the site be move to Morty temporarily?, once the server is back will confirm if we stay on Morty. 😉 Thanks for the all service and support you guys have been given with the hosting service. \m/ Quote
Unknown025 Posted May 10 Posted May 10 An administrator will be able to help with the Morty migration and your missing database files. It is possible that your database may be recoverable, but as always, we recommend creating your own backups. What name(s) did you use in your database? Quote
whoguesswho Posted May 10 Author Posted May 10 Hi, Thanks for the reply, had one backup of the site but forgot to made one of the DB to be honest 😐 DB name would be: whoguesswho_msgboard, if it can be recoverable great but I understand that it might be loss forever. Quote
whoguesswho Posted Monday at 10:50 PM Author Posted Monday at 10:50 PM Hi, For tables iirc messages was the one left in the end. Quote
Krydos Posted Thursday at 03:13 AM Posted Thursday at 03:13 AM So, the only table in the database had the name messages, and there were no other tables? Quote
whoguesswho Posted Friday at 11:40 PM Author Posted Friday at 11:40 PM Hi, yes. The database was for build quickly for a board, in the end was decide to keep users and any other stuff out and leave just that table. It was the quick solution for users to leave the msg and admins to approve/delete them, with no history/log necessary. Quote
Krydos Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago There are two databases where messages is the only table. Can you narrow it down any further? Quote
whoguesswho Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago Hi, I recall the database was created by September last year and wiped last March when then was filled with the new content (March 15 is the last day I remember a new entry was added to the table as it was reviewed that day). Quote
Krydos Posted 50 minutes ago Posted 50 minutes ago Ok, I added the database to your backup at https://heliohost.org/backup Please be aware that the database is in .frm and .ibd files which are binary, not .sql file which would be text. You will need to do some database recovery to get the data out of there. I've googled it and it seems like there are a lot of different methods to do this. If you succeed at extracting the data from the binary files we would appreciate it if you shared the method you used so we can instruct other people to do the same. Quote
