zantonio1989 Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago PLEASE HELP Cannot connect to my VPS! times out, server needs to be restarted Quote
wolstech Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago This support request is being escalated to our VPS admins. Quote
MoneyBroz Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago The issue is that you installed the Xfce desktop environment which runs very poorly on a VPS especially with only 1GB of ram. We recommend just using ssh to manage your server instead. A rebuild may be necessary if it keeps locking up. Quote
zantonio1989 Posted 5 hours ago Author Posted 5 hours ago I have been running Xfce desktop for over a year I have been running for over a year now with no problems now with no problems same specs Quote
MoneyBroz Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago It turns out that your VPS is still having performance issues and a rebuild is now mandatory. Let us know what files you would like to backup and when you would like to start the rebuild. Quote
MoneyBroz Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Also i see you are using Ubuntu22, would you like us to rebuild the VPS with Ubuntu24? Quote

Login username and password stays the same right? Yep login username and password is the same as you set before when you first purchased the VPS. Once the VPS is rebuilt you can upgrade it in the VPS account dashboard. Quote
MoneyBroz Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Your VPS is now rebuilding and you'll get an email when it finishes. Quote

zantonio1989 Posted 3 hours ago Author Posted 3 hours ago is it possible for you to open Please allow inbound TCP 5901 (or custom port) on my VPS. on my VPS so i can log in with tiger VNC UI? Quote
Krydos Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago You have root access to your VPS so you can open or close all 65535 ports yourself. We recommend not using VNC (as we already explained) because installing a desktop uses a lot of memory. Most desktops recommend 8 GB of memory for best performance. The recommended way to access your VPS is via SSH. This will result in the best performance, and a much smaller memory footprint. If you refuse to take our advice and install a desktop anyways, here's the command you could run to open port 5901 sudo ufw allow 5901/tcp Quote
