szhiro Posted yesterday at 09:09 AM Posted yesterday at 09:09 AM Hello dear heliohost support,Β I would like to wipe everything on my heliohost account. My username is szhiro, with current domain app.zhirofund.com. I have done manual backup myself. After the wipe and domain deletion, next step is I would like to opt-in for a default helioho.st subdomain, since my main purpose is to do some development testing on new technologies, particularly Django. My new subdomain would be airsupportdevtech.helioho.st, if it is not occupied. In the meantime, I would like to request WSGI control access to for my Django app development. Thanks a lot! Appreciate if able to do so. Quote
KazVee Posted yesterday at 12:59 PM Posted yesterday at 12:59 PM I've reset your account as requested. You should receive an email shortly so you can take the next steps to recreate it.Β I made a backup before the reset, so if you discover you need any of your old files, you can download the backup here: https://heliohost.org/backupΒ If you're not sure how to extract the backup files, please follow our how-to guide here: https://wiki.helionet.org/Account_Backups The beta testing of WSGI Control Access on Tommy and Johnny ended on May 23 and an update to all users was posted in the forum's News section here:Β https://helionet.org/index/topic/64537-wsgi-restart-beta/ WSGI Control Access is now only available on the Morty server and your dispatch.wsgi file must already exist before WSGI Control Access can be requested and enabled for you.Β Please note that this feature takesΒ at a minimumΒ 260 GB memory per day, which will result in a bill ofΒ $1.91 or more. You can read more details here. https://wiki.helionet.org/Django_on_HelioHost#Request_WSGI_Control_Access If you want to move your account to Morty, we have more details about account moves here:Β https://wiki.helionet.org/Moving_Your_AccountΒ and then you can start the hosting plan upgrade process from your account Dashboard here: https://heliohost.org/dashboard/move/ Quote
szhiro Posted 6 hours ago Author Posted 6 hours ago Thanks for the reset. Just wondering if I don't have WSGI Control Access means Django will not work properly right, after the beta testing ended on my Tommy server. Or the WSGI Control Access is just for debugging purpose? Just doing some clarification here for me to understand better about Django apps. Quote
wolstech Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago That feature is primarily meant for debugging/development. Django will work and updates to the code will still take effect without it, but you might see stale code for up to 2 hours until Apache restarts. If you're just planning to run a WSGI program and not actively develop it on the server, you don't need it. Worst case is you install an update to the software and it takes 2 hours to show up. If you do need it, you'll need to move to Morty and request it. Note that the amount of RAM it uses means your bill will be more than the $1 base due to excessive memory usage every month. WSGI control's usage does not fit within the included 200GB/day memory limit. Quote
