adriannaranjor94 Posted Friday at 08:23 PM Posted Friday at 08:23 PM Hello. I am trying to set un email on my subdomain using Roundcube (mail.yourthings.me) Can anybody help me with the DNS, MX and all the stuff I have to set up at IONOS? Thanks in advance. Quote
Unknown025 Posted Friday at 08:32 PM Posted Friday at 08:32 PM An administrator will be able to help you with this. Quote
Krydos Posted Saturday at 02:34 AM Posted Saturday at 02:34 AM It looks like your current NS records are ns1093.ui-dns.org. ns1099.ui-dns.de. ns1062.ui-dns.biz. ns1116.ui-dns.com. So you'll need to change your MX record and everything else DNS related with them. If you want us to be able to set your MX record, and all the other DNS stuff for you, you will need to log in to your Ionos account and set your NS records to ns1.heliohost.org ns2.heliohost.org and delete all the other NS records. adriannaranjor94 Posted Saturday at 04:42 AM Author Posted Saturday at 04:42 AM Hey, I just did as you suggested. What to do now? Quote
Krydos Posted Saturday at 05:01 AM Posted Saturday at 05:01 AM I'm seeing the old NS records still. When you change DNS records it can take 2 minutes to 2 days to fully propagate depending on your registrar. You can check the current values with this link https://dnschecker.org/#NS/yourthings.me Once they all say ns1.heliohost.org and ns2.heliohost.org and the the old ui-dns stuff is gone we can take the next step. adriannaranjor94 Posted Saturday at 05:17 AM Author Posted Saturday at 05:17 AM The NS records you see there are from the domain yourthings.me, and I changed for mail.yourthings.me, which is the one I need to use for the email Quote
Krydos Posted Saturday at 05:33 PM Posted Saturday at 05:33 PM What is an example of an email address you would like to host with us? Quote
adriannaranjor94 Posted Saturday at 06:18 PM Author Posted Saturday at 06:18 PM Could be something like example@mail.yourthings.me Quote
Krydos Posted Saturday at 09:02 PM Posted Saturday at 09:02 PM Ok, that will work, but if you want an email address like example@yourthings.me it won't work the way you have your DNS set. You can create email addresses at https://tommy.heliohost.org/smb/email-address/list DKIM, SPF, and DMARC have been set up for the domain mail.yourthings.me. We recommend sending a real email (not just the word "test") to https://www.mail-tester.com/ to make sure that everything is set up correctly. If you get less than a 10/10 score please post a link to the full report so we can help you fix any other issues that there may be. Quote
adriannaranjor94 Posted Sunday at 01:51 AM Author Posted Sunday at 01:51 AM I keep getting a "Connection to Storage server failed". Is there anything I need to set up at IONOS? Quote
Krydos Posted Sunday at 02:31 AM Posted Sunday at 02:31 AM Plesk actually provides a Roundcube install, so you don't need to install it yourself, which in your case is comically named https://webmail.mail.yourthings.me/ You can also install it yourself like you did, but the advantage to the Plesk one is it's already configured correctly for you. What SMTP, IMAP, etc settings are you using on your copy of Roundcube? Quote
