Hi, folks! Not sure if this an issue on the Cloudflare side or Heliohost, so I appreciate any help either diagnosing it or pointing me in the right direction.

I previously changed my NS to cloudflare to be able to edit the DNSZone without having to add more work to you, and things seem to be working fine (apart from a TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS issue I solved with help on discord that was related to SSL settings on the cloudflare side).

However, I've noticed that intermittently I get an error on my site now of "Error code 504: Gateway time-out", it'll show up for a bit then go away, then show up when loading my site at another time, etc. All I have is a basic Wordpress installation up on the turinglen.site address. I've attached a screengrab of the error I see when trying to access it sometimes (it has happened a few times for the past couple days).

Appreciate any help or points in the right direction to diagnose it!

Thank you.

This is related to the Apache restarts that occur every 2 hours to load new configurations. This message appears when Apache stops answering requests during the restart, and clears when the restart completes. The length of the error depends on server load at the time of the restart and the number of accounts on the server. It's not something you can fix.

  1. 504 or 502 errors can currently last 1 minute to 30 minutes on Johnny. We have reduced the free signups to help get the server less crowded.
  2. 504 or 502 errors can currently last 1 minute to 13 minutes on Tommy. We are hoping that more Tommy people will move to Morty to make this server less crowded, but it's kind of hard to close signups and tell people they can't donate to us.
  3. 504 or 502 errors have never happened on Morty yet, but if the server gets as crowded as Johnny or Tommy it can happen too.
  4. 504 or 502 errors never happen on a VPS unless you own like 1000 domains yourself.

You can move yourself to Morty with this link https://heliohost.org/dashboard/move/?move=morty-prepay You can signup for a VPS with this link https://heliohost.org/vps/

Ah, okay! Thank you both, that explains it :)

I've sent $5 for the move to Morty, I understand it will be billed at least $1 per month rather than no charges like Tommy. I had sent $6 for Tommy invite + a bit extra, is the previously sent 6 on Jan 21st possible to be added to the Morty balance or a portion of it?

Tyty!

Your account is being moved to Morty :) I've given you credit for $1 for the Tommy account fee, for a total of $7 balance. The other $5 you paid for Tommy was for your extra space purchase. If you no longer want the 2000MB space, we can remove the extra space and credit the additional $5 too. Just let us know in the next few days if you want that done.

You should receive emails when your account moves to Morty, and the domain will take 2 hours to work. You will also need to change the A records for your domain in Cloudflare since Morty uses a different IP.

Oh! Yeah, I don't need the disk space, was mostly just adding as an extra money/donation on top of the $1 fee :) if you can, please feel free to add that as balance for Morty and remove the space.

I'll throw something in to Steve next month too so I may get space there anyway, but I doubt I'll use even the 1gb :D I've already changed the A & AAAA records and things seem to be working.

Thanks!
