Hi Folks,

I just donated a little amount to help you guys with the new server *via
PayPal* (as I don't have a US bank account nor Amazon Pay nor the
willingness to share my credit card details with donorbox.org).
Hope the successor of Stevie can be born soon!
Keep up the good work, greetings from the Netherlands,
Best, Erik (erik.putz, account putz)

I have increased your storage space to 3000 MB. Thanks for the donation!

However you feel most comfortable donating is fine with us, as long as the money makes it to us. We've always used GoFundMe for our past fundraisers which is definitely a more well-known name, and people probably trust them more than some unknown DonorBox. The problem is we always love to give thank you gifts in exchange for donations. We find people are far more likely to donate to a fundraiser if they get something in exchange, such as a storage space increase, or early access to a new server.

GoFundMe suspended our last fundraiser because we said we would give extra storage space or Morty access to donors. We had already raised about $1800 when they suspended it and were threatening to return the money to all of our donors and ban us. It was very scary to think that all the hard work we had done raising the money would have been wasted. We removed all mentions of thank you gifts from our fundraiser, and appealed the decision and they were nice enough to allow us to keep the money, but it was still a very bad situation. We vowed to never use GoFundMe again because of their "No thank you gifts" policy.

We contacted DonorBox prior to setting up this fundraiser to make absolutely sure that thank you gifts were allowed. Now that we've gone through the whole process we're really happy with DonorBox because it is so much better than GoFundMe in every way.

DonorBox never actually has any of your credit card info other than the last 4 digits, and neither do we. We created a Stripe account to do the card processing for us. Stripe is a pretty well known and trustworthy company even if you've never heard of DonorBox.

Anyways, thanks again for the donation!
