b4tra22 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Hi guys, Please check my domain or update it on the VPS lushtrust.co.in, also serv.lushtrust.co.in, can the details be made available to me so i can update the records on my side as well
wolstech Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago If you use our name servers, we can definitely host the DNS for you, but you won't be able to edit your own records (our DNS servers have no user interface, we configure it by editing files on the server, and we can't give access to that as you'd be able to edit everyone's DNS zones, among other things...). Most of our VPS users use Cloudflare or similar for DNS for this reason. If you want to host DNS yourself on your VPS, Krydos will need to assist with that. Note that the fact you only have one server may be an issue (most registrars require two name servers). Escalating.
Krydos Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago 25 minutes ago, b4tra22 said: lushtrust.co.in, also serv.lushtrust.co.in These domains have been added to ns1.heliohost.org and ns2.heliohost.org. Last time we discussed DNS you said you wanted to use ns1.lushtrust.co.in and ns2.lushtrust.co.in so I assumed that meant you didn't want to use our nameservers, but I guess you've changed your mind now. Keep in mind if you need to make changes to your DNS records you'll need to open a support request and it could take up to 24 hours to get the changes made for you. We've already suggested you might prefer external DNS several times, but in case you didn't read all of the previous explanations I'll waste my time saying it again. If you use external DNS, Cloudflare is a popular free option, you won't need to make a support request to change DNS settings, and you can take care of it all yourself.
b4tra22 Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago Guys, this is not my first time for a VPS server, but my first with heliohost, i'm allowed to use a custom dns for a dedicated VPS, it is dedicated for a reason and user should be able to setup their domain. Will you be kind enough to grant me access or how to locate my VPS panel with Cloudflare, i will look into it. Thank you.
Krydos Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Sure. Log in to Cloudflare and add the domain. Cloudflare will give you two names like helga.cloudflare.com and bob.cloudflare.com Log in to your registrar, and copy/paste in the NS records that Cloudflare gave you in step 1. Log in to Hestia and add the domain to your VPS. Go back to Cloudflare and create at the very least an A record pointed to your VPS IPv4, and an AAAA record pointed to your VPS IPv6. If you want to be able to send and receive emails, verify your domain for various services, etc you may need to go back to Cloudflare and add those DNS records as well.
b4tra22 Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago Will give it a try and keep you informed but i will need the account details for the VPS in Cloudflare
Krydos Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago The only information you need from us to add as many domains to your VPS as you want is the dedicated IPv4 and dedicated IPv6 which were emailed to you at 2025-01-21 08:06:20 UTC when your VPS was set up originally. If you deleted that email for some reason I can post them here for you too. IPv4: 65.19.154.87 IPv6: 2001:470:1:1ee::121
b4tra22 Posted 20 minutes ago Author Posted 20 minutes ago Thank you. been on cloudflare now, I require an account to be able to update DNS or manage IPv4; please guide me on how to address this on cloudflare
