dosprn Posted Saturday at 05:13 PM Posted Saturday at 05:13 PM Yesterday I set up a scheduled database backup and today I received an email saying that the backup creation was unsuccessful. Quote <?xml version="1.0"?> <execution-result log-location="/usr/local/psa/PMM/sessions/2024-12-14-154303.917/migration.result" local-dump-created="true" export-dump-created="true" local-dump-name="resellers/djbob/clients/alexgoldberg/domains/dosprn.com/backup_info_2412141543.xml" export-dump-name="backup_dosprn.com_2412141543.tar" custom-log-file="/var/log/plesk/PMM/backup-2024-12-14-15-43-03-909/backup.log" status="warnings"> <object type="Subscription" name="dosprn.com"> <object type="Database" name="alexgoldberg_check"> <message severity="warning"> <description>Unable to make database dump. dosprn Posted Saturday at 09:53 PM Author Posted Saturday at 09:53 PM But I used this option from July to October and received backups to a remote FTP storage on a schedule. Is it possible to enable Shedule Backup for my account? This will save from huge data loss if the server encounters a major failure (which has already happened)
wolstech Posted Saturday at 09:57 PM Posted Saturday at 09:57 PM Krydos will need to look at it. I’m not sure why this function wouldn’t work… it looks like mysqldump failed to run for some reason?
dosprn Posted Saturday at 10:23 PM Author Posted Saturday at 10:23 PM It looks like the user under whose name the schedule is started does not have sufficient rights to run mysqldump.
Krydos Posted Sunday at 12:20 AM Posted Sunday at 12:20 AM I rescheduled it for 00:15 UTC (five minutes ago) and it seems to have run without errors. Can you confirm that it uploaded to FTP and everything is in the backup?

Krydos Posted Sunday at 05:52 PM Posted Sunday at 05:52 PM I'm going to mark this as solved, but let us know if it fails again or if you have any other issues. Sending backups to remote storage is definitely something we want to encourage, and need to support. After Johnny crashed it became really obvious how few people follow our advice and make frequent backups.
