dosprn Posted December 11 Posted December 11 I have encountered a problem with the "Backup Manager/Remote Storage Settings" settings. I have been successfully using this service for a few months since July 2024 and have been uploading backups to DriveHQ storage. But now I have discovered that since October 2024 backups are no longer being created. I have tried to reconfigure Remote Storage Settings into different FTP storages (DriveHQ, Bakop, ftpupload.net) but I keep getting the same error. Quote Error: Unable to access the storage: Transport error: unable to list directory: Curl error: (7) Could not connect to server: Last FTP request: PASV Last FTP response: 227 Entering Passive Mode (185,27,134,11,109,11) Make sure you have entered the correct storage settings. You can check them independently with the command: curl -v --ftp-pasv -u if0_37891616 'ftp://ftpupload.net/htdocs/' And if I execute the suggested curl command, it completes successfully of course (if necessary, the password to mentioned FTP storage is jxNV3DI1QSliyF). Please pay attention to this problem and provide recommendations on how to fix it. I am attaching a screenshot with an error during configuration.
DmC Posted December 12 Posted December 12 (edited) I had the same problem. They restrict outbound connections from the servers, so plesk (curl basically) is unable to initiate the remote connection to your ftp storage. Thus, it times out on the entering passive mode. One solution is for you to configure a specific passive port on the remote end that's already open here.Something I assume you can't do as you're not the administrator. The other solution is for @Krydos to add an exception rule for the ftpupload IP(s) on the firewall. Edited December 12 by DmC 1
wolstech Posted December 12 Posted December 12 Krydos will likely need to check the firewall to resolve this as DmC described. Escalating.

Do I understand correctly that it is proposed to add separate permissions for each IP of each FTP server? In my opinion, this is not very correct.

Here are your options: Configure the remote FTP client to use a passive port that is already open in our firewall. Best solution! We make an exception for a specific IP address that is running the remote FTP server. Second best solution! We open 40,000 or so outbound ports in the firewall. Worst solution! Definitely not going to happen.

Krydos Posted Thursday at 10:55 PM Posted Thursday at 10:55 PM Are you able to send your backups off to remote FTP now?
