HelioHost Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Username: dsuarezg, Server: Tommy2, Main domain: dsuarezg.helioho.stGood afternoon, I understand that these restrictions exist, but I don't see why such strict application is necessary when there is no commercial or inappropriate use. In my case, three different users share the connection (ip) as we live in the same house. I spoke very highly of the hosting service to a relative, and they decided to purchase your best plan. As you can see from the content and usage, we are both students and use the hosting service to run tests occasionally or deploy a website or application for university projects. I hope you can resolve this issue. Best regards. > El 30 ago 2024, a las 21:14, HelioHost Support escribi?: > > Hello, > > Thanks for your recent donation. It's amazing donors like you that keep our non-profit going. Without donors we would quickly go out of business. > > Unfortunately our multiple account detection system has been forced to suspend your account because it thinks you may have more than one account. As you recently agreed to, the first line in our terms of service states that each person is allowed to have one account. It also mentions that if you want to have more than one account, such as if multiple live in the same house and share the same IP and use the same computer, you need to let us know in advance of creating the account to avoid getting suspended. This includes donor accounts. > > One common reason people create multiple accounts is to get more than 1 domain. Did you know you can add multiple domains to your one account for free? Just let us know and we can add a domain. > > Another common reason people create multiple accounts is to get more storage space. Did you know that you can donate to have storage space added to your account? Just let us know you want more storage space and we'll let you know how to do so. > > You can reply to this email if you have any questions. wolstech Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 Thanks for explaining the situation. The two accounts we see (dsuarezg, bug) have been unsuspended. What is the username of the third person's account so we can whitelist it? The restrictions exist because we do not have unlimited server resources. Unlike large commercial hosts that own massive data centers or resell resources from places like AWS, we are a tiny nonprofit that owns a single rack of servers. If a single person decides to create numerous accounts so they can hog more than their fair share of resources, it means we have fewer resources to serve others who just want a single account. As a result, we enforce this restriction across all accounts regardless of use.
