HelioHost Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 VPS number: 33, VPS ID: 517Hi there HelioHost! I'm new in the world of VPS'. I'm familiar with shared hosting and cPanel. Could I please request Plesk be installed on my VPS on my behalf and any helpful tips or pointers you have to getting started. I have a few domains which I would like to point to Heliohost. Will I need to install a webserver myself? Thank you for your help! Kind regards, Yigal Baruch metaphysical@tutamail.com 8 Dec 2023, 03:47 by support@heliohost.org: > > > Hey Yigalbaruch, > > Please find details of the VPS below: > > Username: yigalbaruch > Password: > IPv4: 64.71.153.11 > IPv6: 2001:470:1:1ee::33 > SSH Port: 22 > Memory: 2 GB > CPUs: 2 > Storage: 50 GB > OS: Ubuntu22 > Domain: vps33.heliohost.us > > If you want to run something as root, use "sudo " to run a single command or "sudo su" to switch to root using your password. > > All of the latest updates are done and everything should be good to go. Let us know if you'd like another free something.heliohost.us domain pointed at your VPS. You can host any domain you want by setting the domain's A record to the ipv4, and an AAAA record for the ipv6 listed above. > > If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask. MoneyBroz Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 You would need to pay for a license if you want plesk and it's redundant anyway. There are better free alternatives out there like Hestia or Keyhelp.
yigalbaruch Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 Thanks for your reply MoneyBroz! I'll give Hestia a shot now. If I run into any issues I'll let you know
yigalbaruch Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 I've spent a few hours on it, and managed to get https://64.71.153.11:8083/ up, but it doesn't seem be letting me login as admin with my set password. Could someone take a look at my Hestia install and see what's what? Might be one or two commands necessary to get it up? Thank you ?
Krydos Posted December 12, 2023 Posted December 12, 2023 You can try resetting your Hestia password by logging in via SSH and running the command sudo /usr/local/hestia/bin/v-change-user-password admin yournewstrongpassword Let us know if you're still unable to login after resetting your password.
