I?m sorry, I didn?t realize I would have to rationalize my testing with
everyone. Yes, I do have Gnome ?nonsense? installed for the rare instance
when I need a desktop to connect to a web service locally. A text based
browser rarely gives the same functionality. I use xrdp and the service is
normally stopped, so the memory usage shouldn?t be related to that.

Yes, I did install Modoboa as a friend of mine is one of the developers and
asked me to test a reported hidden issue with the installer. Which I did,
and the issue does pose a problem.

If you could let me know when you restart the sever, then I would be able
to log in and stop services before there is an issue.

Yes, I agree it makes sense to increase memory to 2GB, at least. Can I do
that myself, or do I submit a ticket to have that done?

I requested and paid for the memory upgrade. Please let me know when you
restart the server and I will log in and fix it.

Thanks!

Your VPS has been upgraded to 2 GB memory.

The "nonsense" I'm referring to is audio drivers on a VPS with no speakers, graphics drivers on a VPS with no monitor, power conserving sleep mode after no activity for an hour on a VPS that needs to be on 24/7, etc. etc.

I understand what you are saying about the server not having a physical
screen, speakers, etc., but thats why they are virtualized -- sometimes it
is much easier to do certain tasks from a windows gui desktop.

Thanks for your assistance, I think I have the memory better managed. I
made a small donation via PayPal for the inconvenience and a small way to
say thank you.

You're not the first person to install a desktop on a VPS, and you definitely won't be the last. I just always try to discourage it because people are rarely happy with the performance.

Thanks for the donation. Let us know if you need help with anything.
