Hi,

I'm trying to set up my 'professorparticular.info' email on my gmail smtp, but I'm having troubbles in setting it up.

I then sent an email from 'professorparticular.info" to my gmail and it wasn't successful.

Is any failure in the email system?

thanks

The reverse DNS record for tommy is missing according to that error (kind of weird considering mail was working and I can see the record if I query for it but I suppose it's possible it disappeared with the recent IP changes we've been doing on Tommy to help with DDoS).

The PTR does seem to exist, so not sure why gmail didn't see it:

> set type=ptr
> 65.19.141.77
Server: [8.8.8.8]
Address: 8.8.8.8

Non-authoritative answer:
77.141.19.65.in-addr.arpa canonical name = 77.subnet72.141.19.65.in-addr.arpa
77.subnet72.141.19.65.in-addr.arpa name = tommy2.heliohost.org

The PTR record was correct, but the A record was incorrect. I temporarily changed the A record of tommy2.heliohost.org to allow the Plesk control panel to be accessible during the DDoS which caused Google to have issues with email. The DDoS has ended and the A record has been changed back so it should be working now. I'm going to close this thread. If you're still having an issue please make a new post.
