Is there anything that bottle does that flask or django, which are both already installed, don't do? Also keep in mind that if I did install bottle on Ricky you'd have to use python 2.7.

Ricky is well overdue for a rebuild, so a lot of his software is outdated.

If you mean why do we offer Django on 2.7 on Ricky, it's intentional because some users still need to run old apps on that version. If you need it on 3.x, Johnny or Tommy both have it on Python 3.

You also have to keep in mind that on shared hosting it's not just you using flask or django. There's hundreds of other people using it, and if we upgrade flask or django it may break dozens of people's websites that aren't compatible with the new version. If you want full control over having the latest versions we recommend a VPS where you'll have root access to install any version you want as soon as it's available.
