Luigi123 Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 Are you talking about that you want us to update the MySQL version 8? If yes, why do you need this for and I don’t think it’s possible to update it on the shared Host.
ziggy Posted May 3, 2020 Author Posted May 3, 2020 (edited) Yes, I want Version 8. It has NUMEROUS improvements and features that 5.7 does not have. Mainly Window functions, Common table expressions and JSON functions Edited May 3, 2020 by ziggy
Luigi123 Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 As of right now, we don’t regularly update the mySQL version to 8 on our servers. We guarantee that we will rebuild any of our servers had crashed and updated it all the features to the latest versions. Back in a few years when Johnny had crashed and same goes with Ricky. We started it to rebuild them but we decide it to update all the features to the latest versions for our users to be happy and continue using our services. For now, everything will remain the same.
wolstech Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 cPanel doesn't support it, so no. We can only use software versions supported by cP, and xP is known for being very slow to introduce support for new software versions. As a result, we (and other cpanel hosts) primarily run older software. Postgres is stuck on v9 for the same reason. If you really need mysql 8, you'll need to buy a VPS and run your own server instead.
Krydos Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 Here's the link to the VPS request page if you don't have it already https://www.heliohost.org/vps/
