whisdfkj Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 (edited) Hi all, Fatal exhausted memory error is killing me. I'm trying to launch my community with proud on Helio Host all of this is because of you guys =). I would like to ask for memory raise please I think 512mb should be enough. wolstech Posted March 18, 2020 Posted March 18, 2020 We can ask Krydos, but in my opinion that's well into VPS territory. What are you doing that needs that much anyway (if it's running XF or WP, they're known memory hogs and the answer is to find different software)? To give you an idea, the server has 16GB of RAM and ~1300 accounts. You're asking for 1/32 of the entire server's worth of RAM, when it needs to be shared by 1300 people. While the memory is often free now, it can't be raised for a single person. If everyone starts using it, the server will promptly run out of memory. 1

Also there is no way I'm gonna use all this amount of memory, I need around ~250mb right now, I'm sorry but I had to ask for 500mb.I'm using opensource software. I shared my domain name with you I have nothing to hide, I'm sure that you can see my website any time you want. I forgot that there is apache authentication login.(I know you guys can skip this) I'm keeping SE bots out my website in the moment I'm not finished yet my development. I will send you the login information in PM, you and any admin can login and check what I'm doing at any time Edited March 18, 2020 by whisdfkj
whisdfkj Posted March 19, 2020 Author Posted March 19, 2020 Which version of php are you using?PHP 7.3 (ea-php73)
Krydos Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 The memory limit on Tommy's php 7.3 is already 128 MB which is the maximum we're going to be able to do for now. We are currently experiencing a lot of load spikes on Tommy that are primarily caused by high memory usage by php. If you need more than 128 MB I would recommend a vps https://www.heliohost.org/vps/ where you'll have root access to set the memory limits to whatever you want. Another option would be switching to the Johnny server where uptime doesn't matter as much. We try to keep Tommy consistently in the 99%+ uptime range, while Johnny is currently about 85% uptime over the last week.
