website is SLOW

Hi, I have removed my old website and starting fresh on server Tommy, I know wordpress is not the best but I don't remember sites being this slow especially on tommy, are servers overloaded? It's rated slow by google at 2.5s and 5.2s of loading time with no content, just the fresh wordpress install

Tommy’s load has been very high the past day or so. Not sure why.

 

I do know though that when the server bogs down, wordpress is usually the first program to show it...

It’s just for temporary. It seems the load went down to normal now.

Hi I checked back 2 days later and it still performs badly, the same 2.5s on 3G and 5.2s on 5G and according to google, slow

The site as i said is a fresh install of wordpress with no plugins or fancy stuff

Use pretty much anything other than WP and you won't have this issue. WP is a known problem on our servers, both in terms of performance and it's also the leading cause of suspensions and bans here. Tommy is a bit overloaded right now though...

Tommy server load is still a little higher than it should be, but I installed wordpress on my Tommy account, and ran a speed test. It says the fully loaded time is 1.0s which isn't too bad for wordpress. But like everyone has said the best way to fix wordpress being slow is to not use wordpress at all.
