Hello

For some unknown reason my account was suspended while I was in the middle of using CPANEL. I have no idea what I did wrong. I do need my account back as I'm in the process of updating my web site. Your prompt attention is very much appreciated.

Thank you very much in advance.

Causing high server load. 1554% more cpu use than #2.

Ouch. Whatever you uploaded is either way too heavy, or broken.

Let's have Krydos identify this before we unsuspend it, we want to make sure you know how it fix this so that doesn't happen again.

Most of your load is coming from

/home/daskunk/public_html/cgi-bin/psw_cgi.pl
Please fix it as soon as possible or you will likely be suspended again.

Sure I will look into it but can you provide any more details?  It's a script for checking passwords for when users log into my web site. I literally have 10 users so on average there might be 1 invocation per every 6 hours. The script has been around for months so I'm trying to think of what could be happening today. Any additional info is greatly appreciated.

My guess would be an infinite loop of some sort. I haven't looked at the code, so the author, presumably you, would have a better idea than me.

OK I put a temp patch in for now which basically exits immediately with a good result.  But is there some tool in cpanel I can use to monitor the load it's causing?  The patch I put on now bypasses all the "math". But to know whether a permanent fix resolves it, I would need a way to monitor the effects of any change I apply. I appreciate the help. Thanks very much.

You can post tomorrow or after a few days and ask how your load is. There is not (yet) a tool to monitor your own load. That is something we plan on implementing eventually though.

Hello, I put in a couple of changes to /home/daskunk/public_html/cgi-bin/psw_cgi.pl in hopes of resolving the loading issue. Looking through the code it's not immediately obvious what is causing the problem, but if by "loading" you mean cpu consumption, I went after the likely suspects. Since I don't have any way to monitor my changes I don't know if I've improved anything. If you can somehow monitor it and let me know, I'd appreciate it.  Thank you

Over the past 18 hours your account is #117 on cpu usage, and #169 on memory usage for your server. Basically your account isn't causing any load at all anymore. Check back after a day or two and I can do another load reading on your account if you want to make sure it's fixed, but it looks good so far.
