HelioHost Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Username: tammykin, Server: Ricky, Main domain: tammykin.heliohost.org While setting SSL up for handcrafted.tk - we followed the instructions to aletter and the cpanel accepted the CABundle (?) that Cloudflare provided. This error occurred right after pasting it in and submitting: Template::Exception: [TYPE]=[undef] [iNFO]=[sSL::installed_hosts() failed: Unrecognized vhost:"handcrafted.tk" at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/Config/WebVhosts.pm line 310. ] [TEXT]=[] at cpanel.pl line 1043. cpanel::cpanel::cptt_exectag("/usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/paper_lantern/ssl/install.htm"..., 1) called at cpanel.pl line 4637 cpanel::cpanel::run_standard_mode() called at cpanel.pl line857 cpanel::cpanel::script("cpanel::cpanel","./frontend/paper_lantern/ssl/install.html.tt") called at cpanel.pl line 272 Thank you for your help in advance, Tammy ---This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software.https://www.avast.com/antivirus
Krydos Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Are you aware that we provide free ssl certificates on the Ricky server? We install them for free, and keep them up to date when they get close to expiring. Is there any particular reason you need to use a cloudflare certificate instead of ours?
HelioHost Posted December 1, 2017 Author Posted December 1, 2017 I have read and have been those kinds of certifcates are not trusted inbrowsers. The integration fully with cloudflare seemed like it was betterthat way. I also understand that is is a 15 year full certificate, trustedin all browsers. Either way, attempting to use the SSL/TLS icon results in the error nomatter what. The cloudflare certif. is removed and the error isn't gonewhen clicking "install" for the self-signed certif. I was going to try itwith browsers to see. Here is the error that just happened (I think exact same as before): Template::Exception: [TYPE]=[undef] [iNFO]=[sSL::installed_hosts() failed: Unrecognized vhost:"handcrafted.tk" at /usr/local/cpanel/Cpanel/Config/WebVhosts.pm line 310. ] [TEXT]=[] at cpanel.pl line 1043. cpanel::cpanel::cptt_exectag("/usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/paper_lantern/ssl/install.htm"..., 1) called at cpanel.pl line 4637 cpanel::cpanel::run_standard_mode() called at cpanel.pl line 857 cpanel::cpanel::script("cpanel::cpanel","./frontend/paper_lantern/ssl/install.html.tt") called at cpanel.pl line 272 Thanks. -----Original Message-----
Krydos Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Honestly, I've never seen a cloudflare certificate work. We recommend Let's Encrypt if you really don't want to use our automatic ones. As you can see here our automatic certificates are supported in all browsers too https://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html#hostname=krydos.heliohost.org
HelioHost Posted December 1, 2017 Author Posted December 1, 2017 Ok thank you. I'll try yours first - just in case could you send me theLetencrypt instructions (how to use on your side - my tech friend knows ofthem so just to integrate with you if it comes to that). But the main issue - can't use your cert. either as the error messageappears in cpanel no matter what we try to do. Should I just remove and addthe add-on domain back? -----Original Message-----
Krydos Posted December 1, 2017 Posted December 1, 2017 Yeah, try removing your cloudflare certificate and keys and everything fully. I suspect the errors are because of it being a cloudflare certificate though. Here's the instructions you requested. http://wiki.helionet.org/Installing_a_Let%27s_Encrypt_SSL_Certificate but I still recommend giving our free certificates a try first. They really make things easier.
HelioHost Posted December 1, 2017 Author Posted December 1, 2017 Removed Keys etc., still got the unkown vhost error. Seems the problem runsdeeper. Trying to remove the add-on domain results in this: Red error message box says: "handcrafted.tk" is not a parked domain. I just want to start all over and can't. -----Original Message-----
Krydos Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Alright, you should be good to go now. I fixed all the issues that the cloudflare certificate was causing and set you up with a shiny new certificate from us. This certificate will automatically renew itself when it gets close to expiring so you shouldn't need to worry about it at all. If you go to https://ricky.heliohost.org:2083/frontend/paper_lantern/ssl/install.html you can see that the error is gone and all of your domains are covered. You can see that the certificate will be accepted in most browsers at https://www.sslshopper.com/ssl-checker.html#hostname=tammykin.heliohost.org Let us know if you need help with anything else.
HelioHost Posted December 2, 2017 Author Posted December 2, 2017 I'll check into it shortly - about an hour - thank you so much for all thehelp and sorry if I messed things up. -----Original Message-----
Krydos Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Don't worry about it. It wasn't too messed up to fix.
