HelioHost Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 Hi,i would like to park my domain mbizsasolutions.co.za at heliohost.butwhenever i try to update my nameservers within my domain registrar paneltons1.heliohost.orgns2.heliohost.orgi get an error saying"The .co.za Registry requires that a domain name must be setup on theservers that you are trying to point a domain name to. If you update a domain's name servers from our Domain Management area andyou receive the error above you will need to contact the hosting providerwho will be hosting your website and/or e-mail. They will need to add thecorrect DNS entries (called a DNS zone) before the update can proceed." helios username : zmzmuazz
wolstech Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 This is because your registrar has a backwards policy that we don't support. They're trying to require we set our end up first, when our system requires they set up their end first. The recommended solution is to transfer the domain to another registrar that doesn't do this. Normal, major registrars don't have this unusual requirement and don't validate the nameservers, they just accept whatever you enter. You can usually work around it as follows, but I've seen one registrar that had an issue with this process (they detected step 4 and deleted the NS records before the user could finish, the user had to transfer his domain to a normal registrar): 1. Make that domain your main domain: http://www.heliohost.org/classic/support/scripts/domain2. Wait several hours.3. Set the nameservers at your registrar. 4. Once the change is made successfully at your registrar, use the link in Step 1 to change your main domain back to what it was before.5. Wait several hours.6. Add the domain as an addon domain or alias/parked domain.
