Hi,

A few days ago I've created an account on Helios so I can make a school

project where database is involved. Not sure if this is normal or not, but

there are some problems with the database, is running slow and something

doesn't even run, takes a lot of time to execute a query in Workbench or

running it from c#.

db: xrodionu_licenta

Cheers,

Catalin D.

Ricky has been experiencing somewhat slow response times since yesterday. HTTP seems to be the most-impacted function, however I wouldn't be surprised if MySQL was having issues as well. Thank you for reporting the issue. I've added your concern to the performance issues topic I already have open on our forum for Ricky: http://www.helionet.org/index/topic/28419-rickys-http-performance/?do=findComment&comment=129931

We'll keep you updated as this is looked into.

The performance issues from earlier have been corrected. Are you still experiencing issues using your databases?

I've just moved from a server where the query execution time was '0.040'..this

is 3-5 times slower.

If you're seeing ~0.2 (0.04 x5), then the speeds are normal for Ricky.

Tommy is a little faster than Ricky but not by much. Tommy's average is 0.15, and minimum time was 0.07.

Below are the numbers from two benchmarks that were run this morning (Ricky and Tommy servers). The numbers shown are about normal for their respective servers, Each server is hosting over a thousand accounts, so the speeds aren't quite as fast as a commercial host that has more hardware and puts only a few hundred on a server.

If you need faster performance, you could try moving to Tommy, but ultimately you may need to find a paid hosting company if you really need the speeds you used to have.

Ricky Benchmark:

Average number of seconds to run all queries: 0.271 seconds
Minimum number of seconds to run all queries: 0.182 seconds
Maximum number of seconds to run all queries: 0.375 seconds
Number of clients running queries: 50

Tommy Benchmark:

Average number of seconds to run all queries: 0.150 seconds
Minimum number of seconds to run all queries: 0.073 seconds
Maximum number of seconds to run all queries: 0.291 seconds
Number of clients running queries: 50
