fluctus Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 Hey all,I would like to remote access my PostgreSQL database from any IP . I read in this forum that the remote access can be enabled for a user. For this reason I ask, if it can be enabled for me too?Btw I am on the johnny server.Databas name: fluctus_myDbPostgresql username : fluctus_FlctusThank you in advance. Edit : I am sorry for the wrong tag. It was a mistake and now I don't know how to change it.
wolstech Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 This support request is being escalated to our root admin. EDIT: Just realized you also have two accounts. You're only allowed one. Seeing you're request remote Postgres on fluctus, is this the account you want to keep?
fluctus Posted April 21, 2017 Author Posted April 21, 2017 Thank you for your fast response.Yes this is the account I want to keep. I made second account ,because I thought I accidentally closed window at registration. It would be nice if you removed my second account.
wolstech Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 The account fluctuz (with a Z on the end) has been removed. Krydos will need to set up your remote Postgres for you.
Krydos Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 Do you want access from any IP or more securely from just one IP?
fluctus Posted April 21, 2017 Author Posted April 21, 2017 I would like to have access from any IP. Thank you for your fast response. Best customer service I have ever seen. Keep it up.
Krydos Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 The postgresql user fluctus_Flctus should now be able to access the database fluctus_myDb remotely from any IP. Let us know if you still can't connect or have any other issues.
fluctus Posted April 22, 2017 Author Posted April 22, 2017 @Krydos Thank you for your help but now I am getting this error : FATAL: no pg_hba.conf entry for host "myIP", user "fluctus_Flctus", database "fluctus_myDb", SSL offMy login information were : name : fluctus_myDb host : johnny.heliohost.org port : 5432 user : fluctus_Flctus password : (correct password) Does anyone know a solution to this problem?
Krydos Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 Yep, there was a typo. That'll teach me to cut corners by not actually copy/pasting. I had your username right in one place, but had fluxtus in the other spot. Haha. Does it work now?
fluctus Posted April 22, 2017 Author Posted April 22, 2017 @wolstech and @Krydos Thank you for taking the time for me. It is working now,
