andorub Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 I've sent this message to support@heliohost.org and did not get any answers in 24 hours, so I'm guessing the staff must be busy. Hope I'm not annoying you guys... First and foremost, I would like to thank you for the wonderful service that you provide for free! With it, I will be able to host the few pages and files I require for my hobby project.Although today I've encountered a problem: I've tried installing a Let's Encrypt certificate through the cPanel, and while I'm not 100% sure I did everything I should've, I've tried accessing my site (jpopfantasia.cf) with https, but it gives me this error in Firefox (and I'm assuming I will get the same in the other browsers): jpopfantasia.cf uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because it is self-signed. The certificate is only valid for the following names: andorub.heliohost.org, mail.andorub.heliohost.org, www.andorub.heliohost.org Error code: SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER Could this be a result of something I did wrong, or is this a redirection issue or such? I've attached a screenshot the SSL page from my cPanel. Thanks in advance for any help!
wolstech Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 Your browser is using a stale certificate for some reason. The domain https://jpopfantasia.cf/ works fine for me and shows a valid LE certificate when I visit it (tested in Chrome 57 and IE11). Try clearing your cache. If that doesn't help, try another browser or another computer.
andorub Posted April 19, 2017 Author Posted April 19, 2017 Yup, should've checked. Thanks for the help regardless
Tjoene Posted April 19, 2017 Posted April 19, 2017 As wolstech mentioned, your domain is already using the correct certificate. If clearing the browser cache doesn't work, try to clear the SSL state of your computer: * Open the "internet options" (Control panel > Network and Internet > Internet Options). * Select the tab labeled "Content". * Click the button "Clear SSL state". This will remove all cached SSL certificates that were present on your computer. The new certificate will be loaded as soon as you revisit your domain.
andorub Posted April 23, 2017 Author Posted April 23, 2017 Thanks for all your answers. I now have an additional question: how do I make the subdomains all use the same certificate? ATM I'm not able to connect to the subdomains through https.
Krydos Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 You can buy a wildcard ssl certificate to secure all of your subdomains with one certificate https://www.namecheap.com/security/ssl-certificates/comodo/positivessl-wildcard.aspx or you would need to get an ssl certificate for each subdomain.
