chrishaynes Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 HiI want to change my main domain on my account and have tried the Domain Change Script a few times but it's not working and it seems to maybe even create the new main domain on a different server. Please help me with this change. Thanks.Chris Quote
wolstech Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 What account needs the domain changed? Quote
chrishaynes Posted November 29, 2016 Author Posted November 29, 2016 Thanks. Account: chrishayMain domain: chrishaynes.co.za Quote
Byron Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 Is chrishaynes.co.za the domain name you want? Also it takes at least 24 hours for dns changes to propagate. Quote
wolstech Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 That domain is already configured as the main domain for that account. Is this the domain you want? It's showing queued, but they do take 24-48 hours to start working, so that's normal if you just changed it. Give it a day or so to finish setting up, then clear your cache. If it still doesn't work after that, let me know and we'll look into it further. EDIT: Byron beat me to it. Quote
chrishaynes Posted November 29, 2016 Author Posted November 29, 2016 Ok, thanks, I'll wait and check tomorrow. Quote
Krydos Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 @chrishaynes, if the domain already exists on the system the main domain change script will not work. You can check your current main domain in cPanel, which is currently symbiotic.it. It looks like chrishaynes.co.za is currently an addon domain on your account. So if you want to change your main domain you must delete the addon domain first. If the main domain change script works you will be able to see the change in your cPanel. @admins, the ACP is updated to the new domain even if the domain change script fails. So if the domain already exists in the system the ACP will be updated, but the main domain doesn't actually change. @root admins, you can check the current main domain through WHM, which might differ from the ACP if an error occurred. 1 Quote
