I've seen that a "fix" has again made things worse. I can start a CGI program that accesses a database, but it can't access any data and I can't see my Wordpress blog:

Error establishing a database connection

When logged in to cpanel and trying to run phpMyAdmin, I just get another login prompt

Welcome to phpMyAdmin

Using the cpanel login, it goes to

Server error

The website encountered an error while retrievinghttp://stevie.heliohost.org:2082/cpsess2551231495/3rdparty/phpMyAdmin/index.php. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.

cpanel username is bcsadmin[/color]

The first step is to change your cPanel password. Do that here: http://stevie.heliohost.org:2082/frontend/x3/passwd/index.html

After that, check to see which databases are visible in phpmyadmin. If any of your databases are missing, post a list of the ones that aren't visible so Krydos can restore them for you.

Once they're restored (or if they're already visible), go here: http://stevie.heliohost.org:2082/frontend/x3/sql/index.html and delete and recreate your database users. Be sure to use the database password found in your software's configuration file (for WordPress, it's wp-config.php). Then reassign each user to its databases. If you don't know what privileges to grant, select "All privileges".

I can log in and try to start phpMyAdmin, but just get another login prompt, then the server error again

The password on the account bcsadmin has been manually reset, the new password has been tested, phpmyadmin on your account has been tested and verified to be working, and the new password has been emailed to your contact email address. Let us know if you need any further assistance.

The databases bcsadmin_fbs and bcsadmin_wp486 should now be visible to your root mysql account. You may need to delete, recreate, and reassign permissions to any database users that should have access to the affected databases. If phpmyadmin doesn't log in properly or you don't see the database there change your account password and this should sync up the mysql/cpanel passwords. Let us know if you're still having any issues accessing your data.
