[Solved] Suspended: logica10

Hi HelioNet,

 

username: logica10

domain: softwhiz.co.uk

server: stevie

 

My account is currently suspended due to inactivity and I am unable to renew.

 

When I press the Renew Account button and than press the Reactivate button after entering my username the following message is displayed:

 

"...We're sorry, but we either could not find that account in the database, or it is not listed as inactive. Please contact an administrator if you feel this message is in error...."

 

In the future I will ensure that cPanel is logged into at least once a month to prevent account suspension.

Your account is suspended for sending spam, not for inactivity. Krydos will have more information on what got you suspended.

I am unaware of any spam being sent. I have had the account with you for over a year and there has not been any history of spam.

 

How do I get the Krydos information? Is Krydos going to post on this open forum?

In my opinion that email definitely isn't spam though. Sometimes when we see something like this it's because bots are creating accounts on your forum using real email addresses that don't belong to them. Then the person who has the email says "I have no idea what this is. Spam." One way to combat this is to install a stronger captcha, and even better a custom account creation field. You could have the question like "What is two plus two?" and have your forum accept 4, four, Four, etc. Unless a bot is specifically programmed to answer that question they won't be able to create an account.

 

The account logica10 has been unsuspended. Let us know if you need any more help or ideas for dealing with this spam issue.

I installed a different type of CAPTCHA and crafted some questions that, hopefully, will be difficult for spambots to answer.

 

We will find out if this is the solution.
