khoirulamsori Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Dear Admin and Staff Heliohost, Iwant to ask some requests. Please upgrade PHP andMYSQL to the latestversion. The next version of joomla 3.x.x andDrupal 8 (test version) would notfurther support PHP 5.3, please upgrade to the latest version, atleast to version 5.4. I believe thisis the best free web hostingproviders on the internet ever, soplease grant my request. Sorry my bad english, Thankyou.
Tjoene Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I took a look to the requirements and both Joomla 3 and Drupal 8 should run: Joomla 3: PHP 5.3.1+ (Minimum)Drupal 8: PHP 5.3.2 (Minimum) Stevie is running PHP 5.3.8 at the moment.MySQL shouldn't be a problem for Drupal, but Joomla we just meet the minimum requirement (MySQL 5.1+ and we run 5.1.56). The reason why Stevie doesn't have the latest software installed is stability. The admins put a lot of effort and time into the configuration to make sure Stevie is as stable as possible. This does come at a cost, that means we are running slightly outdated software. Even though this shouldn't be a problem, for now.
Tjoene Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 This support request is being escalated to our root admin.
paladox2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Hi but couldn't you upgrade to like the next version of each feature or software every 3 years or so so you can like if they release php 5.9 could we go to php 5.4 or 5.5 please so that it is stable and keeps the servers running
wolstech Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 Php 5.5 is something I don't think we'll see for a long time, if only because it breaks a large number of scripts due to function deprecation. For instance, every single script on my account is incompatible with 5.5 in some way, mostly due to legacy MySQL functions. As for MySQL, I've come across a few packages like anchorcms that list newer versions as requirements, so I can see a reason to upgrade it.
khoirulamsori Posted February 17, 2014 Author Posted February 17, 2014 Please look my sites http://www.khoirul.cf/.The sites above is using drupal 8.
Krydos Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Stevie is currently running php 5.3.8 which is two versions less than the 5.3.10 that your error says it requires. Johnny is currently running php 5.3.17 which is seven versions newer than what your site requires. I will bump the upgrade of php/mysql/apache on Stevie up a few notches on the priority list, but if you're in a hurry to get your site working on Heliohost you could consider moving to Johnny. http://wiki.helionet.org/Moving_your_account

But please, if possible upgrade the PHP version. Thanks for your answer and support.
Krydos Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 Alright. You can also request to have an account on Stevie and an account on Johnny if you have a good reason http://wiki.helionet.org/Multiple_Account_Policy by creating a new thread in the customer service forum http://www.helionet.org/index/forum/45-customer-service/ Wanting to be able to test the newest version of Drupal on Johnny without losing the uptime of your current Stevie account would be a good reason.

khoirulamsori Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 hello everyone, whether my request will be approved?
Ice IT Support Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I will bump the upgrade of php/mysql/apache on Stevie up a few notches on the priority list. The software versions will be upgraded, but not right away. Upgrading versions takes a lot of time and effort and requires downtime. It will likely take a few months or more before we begin the upgrade process.
paladox2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Hi so if it is going to take along time to upgrade why not install php 5.4 on this server and 5.5 on johnny and please update php admin because it says there is the 4th version out
