RX14 Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 My current setup is to have my domain nameservers pointing to some Hurricane Electric nameservers which have all of my DNS records on. Everything seems to work fine with this setup:rx14.co.uk. 86400 IN SOA ns1.he.net. hostmaster.he.net. ( 2013102611 ; Serial 10800 ; Refresh 1800 ; Retry 604800 ; Expire 86400 ) ; Minimum TTL rx14.co.uk. 28800 IN NS ns2.he.net. rx14.co.uk. 28800 IN NS ns3.he.net. rx14.co.uk. 28800 IN NS ns4.he.net. rx14.co.uk. 28800 IN A 216.218.192.170 localhost.rx14.co.uk. 28800 IN A 127.0.0.1 mail.rx14.co.uk. 28800 IN CNAME rx14.co.uk. www.rx14.co.uk. 28800 IN CNAME rx14.co.uk. ftp.rx14.co.yk.rx14.co.uk. 28800 IN A 216.218.192.170 cpanel.rx14.co.uk. 28800 IN A 216.218.192.170 whm.rx14.co.uk. 28800 IN A 216.218.192.170 webmail.rx14.co.uk. 28800 IN A 216.218.192.170 webdisk.rx14.co.uk. 28800 IN A 216.218.192.170 me.rx14.co.uk. 28800 IN A 84.92.120.199 ci.rx14.co.uk. 28800 IN CNAME me.rx14.co.uk. rx14.co.uk. 28800 IN MX 0 rx14.co.uk. Except for when i run a DNS report it tells me i have no reverse DNS set up for my mailservers. How would I set up this on heliohost's side AND on HE's side?
Krydos Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 How would I set up this on heliohost's side AND on HE's side? You can't set this up yourself. In fact I can't even set this up myself. I have sent an email to our upstream provider who can set this up. I'll update this thread when I receive a reply from them. 1
RX14 Posted November 8, 2013 Author Posted November 8, 2013 I have decided to move my email service over to ZOHO email because it seemed to solve all of my problems because I only have one email on the domain. Thanks anyway.
Krydos Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Since you found another solution this request was put on the back burner. While diagnosing a similar issue on Stevie http://www.helionet.org/index/topic/17760-solved-reverse-dns-for-stevieheliohostorg/ I discovered and fixed this problem too. All accounts on Johnny should have reverse DNS entries for their MX records now.
