Website Updates #42

- The installation and demo areas have been removed since installation is not required in this release.

- The homepage and features page has been updated and revised to reflect the latest features HelioPanel has to offer.

- A login script has been built into the homepage to allow quick access to the central HelioPanel installation.

Notes

- There is no need to perform any action on your end, since the central HelioPanel is automatically updated by us. You can go ahead and login right now.

- HelioPanel is still under development and we are currently working on version 0.5, meaning you may still experience a couple of hiccups with the software. But don't worry; these will be solved within 24 hours.

You can make HelioPanel better!

HelioPanel is constantly being updated via the HelioPanel GitHub Project, where issues are solved, wikis are made, and source code is developed. If you have found a bug or have a feature suggestion then please go to the HelioPanel repository on GitHub and create a new issue if one hasn't been created already. If you would like to improve our wiki articles then please create a GitHub account and then feel free to contribute. Also, if you are experienced in PHP and Symfony2, then we welcome any code that you would be willing to contribute; click here for more info.

Recent and current downtime on the central HelioPanel

At the moment we are developing the next release of the HelioPanel software: 0.5 BETA. However, some unexpected downtime as occurred in the process. We apologise for this and we will soon get HelioPanel back on track. In the meantime, features of HelioPanel will be limited and some downtime may occur. In this release one of the features is that it the software is being converted to Symfony2, meaning that most areas of the software are being remade and converted which is causing this downtime.

To prevent downtime like this occurring in the future, we are going to reflect central on the latest release instead of the nightly version from GitHub.

@jje I think we should simply combine the HelioHost and HelioPanel twitter accounts. HelioPanel only has one follower, and 4 tweets, whereas HelioHost has many followers and many tweets. It will bring more attention to HelioPanel if the updates are posted on the HelioHost channel.

@xaav - I agree. I have deleted the HelioPanel twitter account and it will be gone within 30 days :)

I suppose, the up-arrow was intended for up-loads. Well, it's not doing anything. Additional functions? Like what? Guess, I'll stick to CP until this thing morphs into something real.

First of all, HelioPanel is better than it was originally. Second of all, it's not "magically" going to turn into "something real" overnight, it's going to gradually improve.

On another note, if you find any bugs, please file them!
