Thank you very much!

Merry Christmas and happy New Year to everybody! I would like to create a new account on Johnny using the same e-mail and username as on Stevie, but I'm not allowed to as the credentials are still associated with the Stevie account. Would any of the mighty admins please free my account on Stevie? Could you also be so kind and free the domain brute.heliohost.org? By the way, I've got another domain for my site, namely, brute.tk (provided by dot.tk and/or Freenom). Will I need to change any settings to continue using this domain: the nameservers or anything? Username: incog E-mail: the same as in this Helionet account Domain: brute.heliohost.org, brute.tk

Yes, I just have to change the password as I seem to have forgotten it. So, this is solved now, thanks again!

I wasn't writing this after having tried to log in just a couple of times. It seems like the login was successful (no errors are shown), but I can't get anywhere farther than a login page for some reason. Just tried once again, still the same problem. Oh, I'm so sorry, I didn't notice the error message saying that the login was incorrect because of that iOS Safari address bar. Shame on me and thank you!

I've just read some topics here about problems with Cpanel login, but all of them were about Johnny. I'm on Stevie, and I can't access Cpanel as well. When I enter my login & password and click 'Login', the page just sort of reloads, and nothing more happens. By the way, I also can't log into my FTP account while I'm pretty sure the credentials are correct. The site's working well, though. Username: incog Domain: brute.tk Stevie

Innodb Vs Myisam In Regards To The The Latest Announcement
incog replied to lhorace's topic in Website Management and Coding
I know that InnoDB can store many files for a single table (so if you lose one of these files, the majority of data should be alright) while MyISAM stores one file per table (I guess, if you've lost a file, everything's gonna break). The problem is, why does HelioHost say that InnoDB is fragile and recommends MyISAM as a replacement? Or am I missing something? (I'm no expert in databases, just curious) -
Yeah, that worked very well! At first I didn't understand that I had to change the DB name in config.php to make WP find it, so didn't reply for some time. Thanks a lot, I really appreciate Heliohost's support, you do a great job there!
-
Okay, I dropped the DB from CPanel (and lost its backup, BTW), then tried to recreate it, but it says The database 'incog_wp109' already exists, while PHPmyAdmin doesn't show this DB at all. So, recreating didn't work. Trying to restore it from Softaculous didn't work either: it says that user 'incog_wp109' doesn't have access to the DB 'incog_wp109'. This should mean that this DB still exists?! As a result, the DB is (semi-)dropped, the site certainly shows a DB error (a.k.a. 'error establishing DB connection'). Perhaps this can be solved by deletion of the appropriate .idb file I (seem to) have no access to. Please help. EDIT: I found a WP backup with a file called 'softsql.sql' in it and tried to import that file in PHPmyAdmin, but it this failed saying that no DB was selected
-
Thanks for a quick reply! I've read the page you linked to and tried to restore the WP DB with Softaculous. I've got two recent backups, and when I try to restore, it says: Tablespace for table '`incog_wp109`.`wpbw_commentmeta`' exists. Please DISCARD the tablespace before IMPORT.Google brought me to some questions on StackOverflow about the same problem, but all the answers were suggesting to delete some .idb files from something like /var/lib/mysql, but I don't have access to these directories (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/15694168/error-tablespace-for-table-xxx-exists-please-discard-the-tablespace-before-imp) Doing ALTER TABLE wpbw_commentmeta DISCARD TABLESPACE; from PHPmyAdmin results in an error saying this table doesn't exist (quite true!). As when going to https://brute.tk, I'm shown the installation screen, should I install a fresh version and then roll a backup? Or should I delete the DB completely and try to restore it? EDIT: I installed a fresh version of WP, and the installation succeeded, all the (new) data in wpbw_commentmeta was there, so I decided to roll a backup, but ended up with the same error. Dropping this table didn't help either.

It's written in red that this forum is NOT for HelioHost support. You'd better start a topic here: http://www.helionet.org/index/forum/45-customer-service/

I know there has been a MySQL crash on Stevie recently, and my site (which is powered by WordPress) went down because WP relies on MySQL. It has been down for 4-5 days now, and I finally decided to try to fix it. I found many threads where people were having the same problem. Here are the answers provided by wolstech and yashrs that seemed to have helped there: http://www.helionet.org/index/topic/23748-solved-mysql-error/?do=findComment&comment=116319http://www.helionet.org/index/topic/23770-cannot-log-in-to-mysql-account/?do=findComment&comment=116372http://www.helionet.org/index/topic/23796-not-connecting-to-db/?do=findComment&comment=116431http://www.helionet.org/index/topic/23806-mysql-databases/?do=findComment&comment=116458 Well, I did everything that had been suggested in these posts: Changed my Cpanel password, logged in & out Tried to browse my website - it spitted a database error Checked PHPMyAdmin and found all the databases empty Didn't get discouraged and deleted and recreated the user of my WordPress DB (with the same name, obviously) Opened WordPress' `config.php` and got the DB password from there, assigned it to the newly created user Reassigned this user to his DB and granted all the privileges on him Tried browsing my website again and found that WordPress was working, but only in installation modeHere's the problem: all my data seems to be lost. Is it really lost or did I do anything wrong following these instructions? What should I do to 'repair' my website? Username: incog Site: http://brute.tk Server: Stevie

[Solved] Cpanel Does Not Respond (Firewall issue)
incog replied to incog's topic in Customer Service
Unfortunately, I still can't log into CPanel even after purging my browser's cache and using port 80. What's odd here is that yesterday everything was working fine, including CloudFlare and FTP. Today I'm unable to use FTP due to connection timeout and decided to try CPanel's file editor, but stevie.heliohost.org:2082 just doesn't load saying that the browser failed to connect to the server because it's not responding. BTW, I'm pretty sure there's nothing wrong with accessing port 2082 since I've been doing this for months and nothing has changed since then. -
I'm failing to access CPanel and FTP for some reason, while http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com) says that stevie.heliohost.org:2082 is up. My FTP client says that connection has timed out. I've recently started using CloudFlare and I'm having lots of problems with it now. For example, https://www.brute.tk/ works fine, but if I click the "Download" button, everything goes nuts (I believe I must edit this page to make it work). Can CloudFlare cause these CPanel and FTP issues? What should I do to fix them?

I've written the original post when the parked domain was already working, but it was simply redirecting me to my old domain. What I want is to have both domains (when I type 'old.heliohost.org' I want myself to get redirected to 'new.com' and when I type 'new.com' I don't want to see 'old.heliohost.org' in the address bar).
-
I've recently got a new domain. Now I want my current domain 'point' to the new one (when I type 'old.heliohost.org' I want myself redirected to 'new.com'). At the same time I don't want to lose my current domain as I may need it if something goes wrong with the new domain, for example. So, I've searched the Net for this and found some examples of how to do this using '.htaccess' (eg. http://whaaat.com/content/redirect-old-domain-new-domain-using-htaccess). Following this example, I did the following: <CODE> RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^old.heliohost.org$ [OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.old.heliohost.org$ [OR] RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.new.com$ RewriteRule (.*)$ http://new.com/$1 [R=301,L] </CODE> Then I typed 'new.com' into my browser. The main page including CSS files were loaded OK, but all the images and some scripts disappeared (I didn't touch the contents of this page). I've read about the DomainChange script (http://www.heliohost.org/home/support/scripts/domain), but it should eliminate my old domain, shouldn't it? What to do? How to redirect my old domain to the new one?

I did this but it didn't help. Still showing the same message. Strange, I can log into Cpanel and my site is running OK...
-
1. incog 2. stevie 3. brute.heliohost.org Yes,I've tried to use the renewal script, but it says "We're sorry, but we either could not find that account in the database, or it is not listed as inactive. Please contact an administrator if you feel this message is in error."
-
Wordpress shows 500 Internal server error and "can't connect to database" sometimes. What does it mean? Misconfiguration or mysql problems? Where does WP store text? I don't want to lose it at once.
-
I've checked the backup archieve with Microsoft Security Essentials, it says that everything is OK. Moreover, I am sure that there are no malware files on my site. What to do next?

[Solved] Cannot Access Stevie.heliohost.org At All!
incog replied to incog's topic in Customer Service
I've checked Stevie server for avaliability using mobile Internet, and it worked! So, my home network was not configured properly: my router blocked access to Stevie server. Problem is solved now, thanks a lot to everyone!
