There are several disptributions of Linux. As OS, it has evolved a lot and the distributions also. So, the full featured distributions are not free. The lite version of every Linux distribution is free ..

For developers, Firefox has some unusual problem - when using <p> (paragraph) tags, it just moves a little the body of the text. Otherwise, "padding" is a word that IE doesn't wanto to hear. For example, if you have a cell of 100px width and a 10px padding, IE displays it as 110px and Firefox correctly displays it as 100px. And IE messes up with PNGs too. Firefos is better. Proved.

Windows Vista looks extremely good at the first site. After a couple of days your eyes will get bored and uncomfortable of the contrasts ... Linux looks simply good. If Tiger OS X was in the game I would definitely vote for it.

You know what they say .. "Once a Nokia, always a Nokia". I just found out that the saying is totally right. But, will Nokia remain on the top of the top after years and years ? I'd vote for C/C++/Visual C. It's a language that can do almost everything, my regards for the creators. But, my favourite, although it'd mixed up w/ design id Flash AS. You don't know what you can do with it ... very complex.
