Again thank you so much for doing this. With the tar ball I was able to retrieve the files I needed. Since Ricky is using a different version of PHP, I have tripped over some things that need code updates but slowly I'm getting everything restored. I haven't tried restoring the SSL (https) yet but will try that next. Gary On Sun, Dec 10, 2017 at 9:47 PM, Heliohost Support wrote: > The .auth directory is not needed for ssl. I think our emails crossed but I have FTP working now. I noticed another folder missing. I had a .auth folder with some critical files in it. Is it possible to get those recovered? I thought the .auth is also needed for SSL? OK so I created an account in Tommy called l6 (domain l6.heliohost.org) can we try installing the required packages for these extensions? Thanks in advance. OK I was able to resolve the userid issue. I used the main cpanel and got the password reset for daskunk so now I'm logged in as daskunk. As soon as I did that I saw the new permissions. I thought I fixed that but I guess it was a coincidence and now I'm seeing the updates you made .. thank you again. So the only problem I have at the moment is even though I can log in as daskunk into cpanel, I still can't FTP using daskunk as the userid. The authentication step just hangs. Do I need to specifically set something up? Thanks Gary On Sun, Dec 10, 2017 at 5:43 PM, Heliohost Support wrote: > The only way to change the userid is to delete the account and recreate > it. FTP is now working also. Perhaps it just needed some propagation time after I reset the password again. The other question I have is ... is CGI allowed on Ricky? I noticed the cgi-bin folder was empty and it was the only one where my data wasn't migrated. I have all the files locally so I simply uploaded the cgi perl scripts I need, so they are back now .. but I started wondering if you didn't copy them because CGI is not allowed on Ricky. I definitely rely on my CGI perl scripts. Thanks again On Sun, Dec 10, 2017 at 5:51 PM, Heliohost Support wrote: > OK I was able to resolve the userid issue. Hello I've been traveling all day just got to a hotel where I could check my email. I finally caught up on all the emails and just reset my password and logged into the new site. Thank you SO MUCH for helping me out. I do seem to have a couple of issues I noticed right way. The first is that none of the files in any of the sub-folders under the PBC folder have permissions. So I can't seem to view or edit any of them. The second is I'm not sure if my userid changed or not. It was always daskunk and I had a password I set up on the first day of Johnny. I always logged into cpanel using daskunk and that password --and-- I FTP'd using daskunk and that password. When I went to reset my password a few minutes ago, I tried using daskunk (and a new password) but I kept getting errors. Then I noticed it asked for userid or email so I tried it with this email (daskunkworks@gmail) and that worked. So I got a new password. I can log into cpanel now using daskunkworks@gmail and the new password but I can't FTP. Also when I log in, it shows the userid as daskunk. My concern is all those files you migrated were created under the daskunk userid so I wonder if this could be related to the permissions issue. Anyway I was wondering if I could get the daskunk userid back and just have a new password on that userid. Thanks again Gary On Sun, Dec 10, 2017 at 5:07 PM, Heliohost Support wrote: > Alright, now your domain is secure too. https://daskunk.heliohost.org/ > This certificate will automatically update itself when it gets close to > expiring so you shouldn't have to worry about ssl at all anymore. Username: ebeliy, Server: Tommy, Main domain: lawandfiction.net Hello, I believe my account was suspended due to inactivity(?). If that is the case can it please be reactivated? Account name "ebeliy," email " eugenebeliy@gmail.com." Domain: lawandfiction.net. Please not I have not been getting inactivity emails. Did you guys stop sending those? Also can you please notify me if it counts as "logging into cpanel" if I just log to check my notifications? Or do I have to do something substantive and click on links within cPanel? Thank you

Hello I've been checking throughout the day I still can't get to my web site due to the new SSL certificate not being used. It was renewed and uploaded over 20 hours ago. I know you said it could take up to 12 hours so I waited throughout the day. I'm not sure what else to do on my side. The Certificates on Server panel shows the new certificate with the March 2018 expiration date. When I go into the Manage SSL Hosts and select my domain and click on Browse Certificates, it shows up as selected. I've tried several different web browsers and client devices and they are all seeing the site not properly secured screen. Is there anything else I need to do to enable the new certificate? Thank you so much for your time. ---------- Forwarded message ----------

Username: daskunk, Server: Johnny, Main domain: daskunk.heliohost.org Hello I am so sorry, I just saw the updated ticket now because I didn't get any email to prompt me otherwise I would've responded immediately. I would like Option 4. Could you please move my entire account to Ricky? I assume it has all the same facilities (perl, PHP, postgresql, etc) as Johnny so that my site will run the same way? Is there anything I need to do on my side once you move it? Thank you SO MUCH for all your efforts. I really do like your site and really need to get my web site back on line. I will be traveling for much of tomorrow but if you could please update me via email to [redacted] that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you again Gary -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yeah, I've been fiddling with this ssl on your account all day and it just doesn't want to work. Johnny is too overloaded to do ssl well. Ricky and Tommy actually have something called autossl where they install an ssl certificate on all of your domains for you, and then even update it when it gets close to expiring. So that said, my recommendations are: 1) Forget about https and just use http for your site on Johnny. 2) You can delete your Johnny account and move to Ricky. 3) You can delete your Johnny account and move to Tommy (but you'll have to wait nearly 24 hours to create the new account since he's full for the day already.) 4) I can move your account to Ricky for free. 5) I can move your account to Tommy for a donation even though the server is full for the day. Option 4 is probably best unless you're interested in donating and being on our best, fastest, and highest uptime server.

Tommy has been upgraded to the latest version of Apache Tomcat. This version came out less than two weeks ago. We were using tomcat 8.5.4 previously which came out over a year ago on 2016-07-12. We figured it was time for an upgrade. You can read the changes between 8.5.4 and 8.5.24 at https://tomcat.apache.org/tomcat-8.5-doc/changelog.html Since this is a fairly minor update we don't forsee any complications for the deployed java applications on Tommy. If you have any questions or issues though feel free to let us know.

Hello I just checked my web site and I'm still getting the insecure message. I cleared my browser cache and even tried a completely different browser and a completely different device. It's been almost 14 hours since I uploaded the new certificate. I really need the site working today. Can someone look into it please. Thank you very much. I had just uploaded it 15 minutes prior to sending the email as I couldn't recall if I needed to do anything further on my end. It hasn't even been an hour yet. But as long as I know that I don't need to do anything further, thank you again. Username: daskunk, Server: Johnny, Main domain: daskunk.heliohost.org Hello My SSL Certificate expired today and I just renewed it and uploaded a new one to my heliohost web site. After I was all finished, I attempted to access my site and I'm still getting the "insecure" message. Do I explicitly need to do anything to make the new certificate take effect? The Let's Encrypt site mentioned something about uploading the certificate then restarting the web server but I think that step is beyond my control. Thank you so much for your excellent service. Thank you! The link is very useful. As I understood, it is not allowed upload the ready binary file to cgi-bin directory and then change permissions to 755? That is because I code on GoLang. Default gcc compiler does not support compilation of *.go files. Thanks a lot again, your answers are pretty helphul! Thanks, Nimrod.
