Thank you for this, of course it worked. I can connect from DBeaver. One more question. I am trying some php on my machine and I want to insert some data in the tables in the database "user_sorting" on your server.? The php code is on my machine, which I use for testing. When I try to establish the connection to the above database I get and error of permission denied. So I can connect from DBeaver but from php. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you! Adrian Barb Jan 16, 2026, 2:14 PM by support@heliohost.org: > The first step to allow remote database access is to allow port 3306 in the firewall. This is the command: /usr/local/hestia/bin/v-add-firewall-rule accept 0.0.0.0/0 3306 tcp The next step is to reconfigure MariaDB to listen for remote connections: nano /etc/mysql/mariadb.conf.d/50-server.cnf and change this line: bind-address = 127.0.0.1 to: bind-address = * then you need to restart MariaDB: systemctl restart mariadb Now you should be able to connect your DBeaver application with these settings: host=65.19.166.231 port=3306 username= password= I have done all of the above steps except creating the database and database user for you already, but if you need to do it yourself some day you know how now. You don't need our help to do this stuff because you have root access to the VPS and can run all of these commands yourself. If you're not sure what you're doing we're happy to help you learn though. > > You may view the status of your ticket by visiting: > > https://helionet.org/index/index.php?showtopic=66589 > > Thank you, > HelioHost support > https://heliohost.org/ > https://helionet.org/ >

Hi HelioHost Support, Thank you so much for sharing the helpful guide with us. We have read through all the tips and understand the process perfectly now. We will follow the instructions carefully: 1. Sync our device time correctly using time.is 2. Make sure JavaScript is enabled in our browser 3. Watch for the countdown on the Johnny signup tile 4. Be ready to click at noon or midnight UTC We are very excited to get our nonprofit student AI learning platform hosted with HelioHost. We will keep an eye on the signup page and try to create our account during the next available signup window. Once we successfully create our account, we will update you on our progress. If we encounter any issues or need further assistance during the process, we will reach out to HelioNet Community as you suggested. Thank you again for your tremendous support and for providing free hosting to students like us. We really appreciate HelioHost's mission to help learners worldwide. Hi HelioHost Support, One more small request from us: if it is possible, could you please send us direct instructions or a special link to create the free Johnny account? Since the free signup is available only during specific times and we are students with busy schedules, it would be very helpful if you could email us directly when a new account is ready to be created, or if you could help us create the account from your side. This way, we won't miss the daily window and we can start building our project right away. Thank you again for your kindness and support. Hi HelioHost Support, Thank you so much for your friendly reply and for supporting our idea. Your encouragement really means a lot to us. We are very happy to hear that we can start on the free Johnny plan, and we have decided to begin building and hosting our student AI learning platform with HelioHost. We have one more question about the signup process. On your website, the free plan signup is only available during specific times, and sometimes the message shows that the limit has been reached for the day. Because we are students and our schedules are different, it is a bit difficult for us to catch the exact time when new free accounts are available. Could you please explain: - What is the best way or best time of day to create a new free Johnny account? - Is there any specific time window (with timezone) when the free accounts are usually opened? - If we miss the daily window, should we just keep checking the signup page until it shows that registrations are open again? We want to follow your rules and not abuse the system, but we also don?t want to lose the chance to create the account we need to start our nonprofit project. Thank you again for all your help, your patience, and for providing free hosting to students and the community. We are excited to start building our project with HelioHost. Hi HelioHost Support, Thank you so much for your kind reply and for confirming that our project can start on the free Johnny plan. It really means a lot to us. We would like to explain a bit more about our project and why hosting is so important for us. We are a small group of 5 students working together on a nonprofit, fully open-source AI learning platform for students like us. Our only goal is to create a place where normal students, who cannot afford expensive AI subscriptions, can: - Learn machine learning and AI step by step from the basics - Practice with examples, code, and small projects - Use AI tools only for education, completely free of charge Big AI platforms usually require monthly subscriptions or paid API keys, and this makes it difficult for many students to learn. We want to build an alternative that is completely free and open, so that any student can learn and experiment without worrying about money. For this reason, we are trying to host one main website where all the learning content, examples, and tools will be available. One HelioHost account is enough for our whole project, but the website itself needs to be able to handle more traffic as more students join. Our long-term target is to reach at least 100,000 students if the project is successful. We know this will not happen in one day, but we want to design the platform in a way that will not suddenly go offline when many students use it at the same time. That is why we are a little worried that a normal free plan might not be able to handle higher traffic without crashing or being suspended. If our educational site goes down in the middle of a class or a learning session, it will be very sad for the students and teachers who are trusting our platform. We came to HelioHost with a lot of hope because you are also a nonprofit that helps students and learners. If there is any way you could help us by: - Suggesting the best configuration or limits for our kind of project on the Johnny plan, and/or - Letting us know if there is any possibility of a bit more resources or a special consideration for this student-focused nonprofit platform it would mean a lot to us. Without stable hosting, our project may be forced to stop before it can truly help students. Thank you again for your time, your support for our mission, and for offering free hosting to the community. We really appreciate any guidance or help you can provide. Username: N/A, Server: N/A, Main Domain: N/A Dear HelioHost Team, My name is Rakin, and I am working with a small volunteer team on a nonprofit, fully open-source AI learning platform for students. We discovered HelioHost and were very inspired to see that you are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit host focused on helping students and learners get online. Many of your users are students who use your free hosting to learn web development, which is exactly the kind of mission we believe in as well. Our project We are building a free educational website where students can: - Learn AI and machine learning step by step - Practice with interactive coding examples and small projects - Safely use AI tools only for education, with no ads and no subscription fees All of our code will be open-source, and the platform will remain nonprofit. Our goal is to help students who cannot afford paid AI tools or expensive courses. Why we are reaching out We expect that, if the project is successful, a large number of students (schools, colleges, coding clubs) may access the website. For that reason, we need reliable hosting with good uptime and enough bandwidth so that the site does not suddenly go down when many students are learning at the same time. Because we are a small nonprofit project without a budget, commercial enterprise hosting is not possible for us. We are looking for a partner who can help us keep the platform online for students while we continue to build and improve it. Our request We would be very grateful if HelioHost could: 1. Confirm whether our nonprofit open-source student project is eligible for your free shared hosting (unlimited bandwidth with storage limits as described on your site). 2. Advise which server/plan you recommend for an educational site that may receive classroom-size traffic. 3. Let us know if there are any special steps or requirements for student-focused nonprofit projects like ours (for example, mentioning your organization on our site, or any usage guidelines we should respect). We truly respect the work HelioHost is doing for students and learners worldwide, and we would be honored to host our project with a nonprofit provider that shares the same values. Thank you very much for your time and for any support or guidance you can offer. Best regards, Rakin Raj rakinraj000@gmail.com

Username: yfarahvidana, Server: Johnny, Main domain: orangesoftware.helioho.st Hi Helio Team, I am writing to clarify the recent account activity that may appear to come from the same IP address. My brother recommended HelioHost to me as a free platform to learn programming and experiment with web development. Based on his recommendation, Yesterday I created my own HelioHost account for learning purposes. We are family members living in the same household, so we share the same internet connection. Because of this, both of our accounts may sometimes show login activity from the same IP address, which may explain the alert related to multiple family members using the same connection. Each of us has our own separate account, and we only access and manage our own websites. There is no intent to violate the Terms of Service. Please let me know if you need any additional information from me or if there are any steps we should take to avoid future issues. Thank you very much for your time and understanding. Username: rclark, Server: Johnny, Main domain: nopal-it.helioho.st Hello, Thank you for reaching out regarding the recent login activity. I would like to explain the situation. I found HelioHost some time ago and recommended it to my brother because I think it is a great platform to learn and experiment with web development. He was interested in trying it as well, so he created his own HelioHost account while using the same home internet connection that I use. We live in the same household, so both of our accounts may sometimes be accessed from the same IP address. Each of us has our own separate account and manages only our own website. I did not create multiple accounts for myself, nor am I maintaining an account for someone else. Since we share the same internet connection, I would like to ask how we can properly maintain both accounts without violating the Terms of Service or causing any future issues. Please let us know if there is anything we should do, such as requesting prior permission or providing additional information. Thank you very much for your time and support. I appreciate your guidance.
