Most likely a PEBKAC. How did you install wordpress? Are you sure you didn't cause anything to botch up configuration?

Both your accounts are fine. Try refreshing your cache. Like the Support FAQ (which you should read) says: "If you just registered, please wait 48 hours for your cPanel account to become active."

Provide details about how "EXACTLY" can't you register. Username, domain, etc.

You can't use the default mail account that comes with your cPanel. You must create a new email account with @your.domain on the end.
