  1. Well, most games are coded from scratch, using a powerful language. You can start with Python if you wish to take that route. The leading programing languages are C++ and Java(if you wanna do something internet based, Runescape uses Java.)

If you don't want to learn hardcore programing, there are many programs that will code all the dirty stuff for you. You just have to provide the ideas, rules, and graphics.

Considering you're asking this question, I'm assuming you haven't used Google yet, and found that on the first page alone, there are many free programs that are very effective.

  2. You're suprised? I've only been here for a couple days, and I can tell that this is the kind of host that will almost always ask about things like this!

It's simply the point that he is asking us about a decision which will effect his profit.

I guess my point is that djbob is such a good admin I wouldn't mind him taking a few liberties when it comes to this.

We could all just click on the ads 1000 times each, and then djbob shouldn't have any money problems. ;)

  3. Why do people keep saying infinity - 1, that wouldn't be closest at all, there is still infinity - 0.0000000000000000000000000001..I could go on but the the number of zero's could be infinite!

and then of course, there is infinity + 1, which is technically possible... this is a really useless post anyway!

As it has been pointed out eleventy bijillion times before, infinity is a direction, any mathematical operation you preform on it will still result in infinity.

  4. =_= battle of the admins much?

If I may step in, the facts still stand:

    1. djbob is losing money.

    2. djbob doesn't want help.

    3. djbob owns the server.

So as far as I can see it, djbob can be as insulting(whether intentional or not) as he wants, as long as fact #3 still stand.

Frankly, I don't care as long as I still have a website. ;)

  5. For me, i like the whole Nintendo line. But, my favorite is Super Nintendo by far. Since it's not on your list, i pick DS. Its the latest Nintendo system and plus, who doesn't like Mario or Luigi?

Who would've thought that a pair of Italian plumbers created by Japanese programmers would captivate the world so?

  6. This reinforces the fact a majority of female doesn't like programming/website development stuff.

I wouldn't say that. I know many brilliant female hosters who are wizards at web design. They just don't use 'post to host'. Most of them have their own domain, and do not require the services of a site such as this.

  7. http://polishlinux.org/ is a good site to use when trying to find the right linux/unix distro. It has a quiz where it tries to find the right one for you, as well as a list of each of their features and how hard they may be for you to install/use as well as what kind of graphical interface they use.

    Polishlinux.org is brilliant, and they have pretty screenshots ^^;

Linux is all about how much you want to work. The less lazy you are, the better chance that you'll like it/be successful with it.

  8. IE runs faster than FF because IE is owned by Microsoft and is a built-in browser for windows. FF i think is more secure though because microsoft products are much targeted by viruses and other stuffs.

IE run faster in windows of course. But i do prefer FF.. :P

IE boots faster, but that doesn't mean that it browses faster. You are party correct in saying that part of the reason why Firefox is more secure is that script kiddies are trying to nail the n00bs in IE. However, Firefox is also just more secure by nature of it's code. IE has lots of security holes.

  9. Bobby Fisher was one of the greatest chess players that ever lived. He's the only guy in the US to beat the Russians for the World Chess Championship

Well, he's dead now... died in Iceland

Some people say that's a good thing. (He became anti-America and antisemitic)

Some people say it's a bad thing. (Chess became more popular in the US because of him beating the Russians and everything)

    What do you guys think?

  10. I believe I'm one of the youngest around here?

Since more kids are starting to use the 'net. It's inevitable that they'll need free hosting. I mean what are we gonna do? Go get jobs? HA! Well actually I have a job... but then again I don't want to pay for a site because I doubt I'll put up anything permanent.

  11. What's your computer setup? Hardware specs, OS (if *nix, which distro), Desktop Environment, Window Manager, etc.

Please try not to turn this into an AMD vs Intel or a Windows vs. Linux argument.

I have a Compaq nx7400 running dual boot between Windows XP and Ubuntu Linux. I use a variety of DE and WM as I see fit.

I also have an old custom build b0x that is a triple boot between XP, Ubuntu, and Arch Linux.

  12. People believe what they want. It takes usually takes a higher being to prove them wrong. Humans can be pretty stubborn.

When I was a kid, I thought that since the world wrapped around east and west wise, it must be the same north-south wise. So I thought that Antarctica was connected to the Arctic... I miss those days, when everything was simple...

  13. ch1ll d00d.

There's only one admin checking all new requests.

You've been postin' a while now, and you still don't get it.

Heliohost is a NON PROFIT hoster.

Which means, that t3h admin doesn't have to help you at all.

All this is coming out of his pocket.

Anyways, if you want to use your own domain name, all you have to do is type it in to the form that you use to sign up, instead of using .heliohost.org.

If you're impatient with the services and support provided here, go to freehostia.com. They do wonders if you have your own domain name.
