  1. Invited both.
  2. Hey sorry for the delay guys, I added Bailey. Krydos and wolstech, would you like to be added too? Let me know your GitHub name or email address. By the way our logo on the GitHub page is pretty old and grainy... would welcome any replacements!
  3. Congrats!
  4. We're going to have a short downtime for all services at around midnight PST tonight. We are moving from contracting with Connex to contracting directly with Hurricane Electric, our datacenter. This involves switching the ports where we connect our network and power cables, which is what will necessitate the downtime.
  5. Aww this is heartwarming to read
  6. Congrats, Shinryuu!
  7. Sorry, but we can't give you the domain on your account. We would have to give you our credit card number to accomplish that.
  8. Done.
  9. /var/cpanel on Stevie is full so I'm going to deal with that NOW.
  10. The problem was that you have a U+EFFF character at the top of your file. It's invisible to most editors, but it signifies UTF-16 encoding and the PHP parser might have caught it and turned off UTF-8. It's known as the byte order mark. I copied your tes.html into test2.php and removed the byte order mark and it seems to work now.
  11. Not sure why this happened. Trying to run a script to correct the issue now.
  12. Sorry... Cody went down and I needed a Windows computer to restart him (blame VMWare), but I was down in California without one.
  13. cPanel people are still coming up with shitty attempts at fixing the issues. Hopefully they'll actually take a serious look soon enough, but for now they want us to run upcp...
  14. It would seem that it's back now? I suppose you ran heliohost_nightly?
  15. We're running a memory test to see if that is the root of recent problems with domain changes and sign-ups. Should be up within 12 hours or so.
  16. Re-opening this thread. opportunity is an asshole. But Piotr is right. We are dishonest and sound too much like marketers with our home page. I blame my 16-year-old (or however old I was) self for that. We should be honest. With HelioHost, you are getting free hosting. But you are losing out on stability, uptime, and support will be slower. We try our best to keep up but we aren't perfect. Until somebody comes along and gives us a grant to work on HelioHost full-time, our service will never be scalable enough to deal with the amount of users we have. We will never be able to offer everything we'd like to offer as part of our service. We shouldn't be advertising as if we're perfect. Especially considering that we are a non-profit. It's not like we have anything to gain by tricking people.

    Extended Downtime

Sorry guys... the issue this time was that the shutdown caused actual disk corruption, so the process of checking the disk (fsck - "filesystem check") was more long and involved.
  18. DmC is right, but I'd have to request PTR delegation via CNAME redirects since the size of the block it too small for a direct delegation (same thing we do for 65.19.143.2... dig -x to see). Basically this means I'd have to bother the upstream provider. DmC: is there a particular reason you want the PTR record?
  19. Wow, you win a prize for bringing back a topic that has been untouched for almost five years.
  20. Nope, sorry. We don't make custom modifications to httpd.conf for users. If you can't do it with .htaccess then you probably want to purchase a VPS
  21. Okay, you've been granted a dedicated IP.
  22. This issue seems to have been resolved.
  23. Okay, done. I think WHM has a facility to change the PostgreSQL root password?
  24. xaav: All the files under /var/cpanel got chown'd to root. I'm not sure myself as to what the right owners are... I've just been comparing to Johnny so far.
  25. Is this issue corrected now?
