Hello! There was no Johnny crash earlier today that I'm aware of. Server issues are usually shared in the News channel at: https://helionet.org/index/forum/1-news/ Maybe your website was down for a few minutes earlier due to the Apache server restarts, which happen every 2 hours. You can read more about them in our technical documentation Wiki here: https://wiki.helionet.org/502_Bad_Gateway The page also includes information on how you can upgrade your hosting service if you wish to reduce or remove the impact of the 2-hour Apache restarts. Please be aware when using free AI translators that they tend to add excess flowery language ("It was truly impressive", "who shares that same spirit of selfless service—is truly a dream come true") and emdashes which can be boring and tiring to read. All staff are unpaid volunteers who donate their free time to help users. We truly don't mind if you make some typos or if English isn't your first language. As long as we can understand your request, we're happy to help. Some of us do not need or want the effusive verbosity of AI generated text, and might actively avoid reading it, which can risk delays in actioning your requests. When checking your account, I notice you used a disposable email address on your HelioHost account. Please re-read our Terms of Service at https://heliohost.org/terms/, specifcially the line: I have removed the disposable email from your account and changed it to match the Gmail address associated with your forum account. If you revert to using a disposable email address on your account, you risk having your account suspended. Finally, another staff member has the domain changes in progress, so they'll update this thread to confirm once the changes have been made. Thanks! -
I have started the rebuild, and you'll get an email in 10-30 minutes when it is complete. Your next free rebuild will be available on 2026-05-24. If you need a rebuild before then they can be purchased for $1 each.
-
It was. It's in the invite list even though it didn't actually send. I just resent it.
-
This support request is being escalated to our VPS admins.
-
Yes you can buy extra VPS rebuilds if you want them. If I remember right they're $1 each. The vps158.heliohost.us domain as well as any others you've had us set up DNS for will remain valid after the rebuild (though of course you'll need to install and configure whatever software you need on the VPS for them to work). Escalating to have the rebuild processed.
-
Hello. I would to request to start fresh for VPS158 under user339058. I understand this service is limited to just once per month. May I know if it is available more than once per month, perhaps as a cost option? Is the domain tied to the VPS retained after a rebuild?

Hi HelioHost Team, I'm ryotagtagtag, currently active on the Johnny server. I would like to make a final adjustment to my server configuration. Request: Please add the domain ryopc.qzz.io to my account and set it as my Primary (Main) Domain. (I have already pointed the A record to 64.62.151.106.) I want my volunteer network "ryopc" to be officially recognized under this custom domain as its primary identity. On a final note, I want to express my sincere gratitude to the entire HelioHost team. It was truly impressive to see Johnny bounce back in just 4 minutes after the crash earlier today. Your dedication as a non-profit organization is exactly what the modern internet needs. I am building "ryopc" to provide free, professional-level support to PC users, and finding a partner like HelioHost—who shares that same spirit of selfless service—is truly a dream come true.Thank you for your , your incredible "10,000 CPU" power, and for being the best non-profit host in the world! Best regards, ryotagtagtag

Happy New LTS Ubuntu Day! To those who celebrate the holiday anyways. The resolute raccoon just showed up at HelioHost and demanded a spot on our VPS operating system list, so we were happy to add him. He's too darn cute to say no to. For those who don't know what is going on, every two years in April the Ubuntu operating system releases their new long term support stable version, and it always has a cute animal name with an alliteration adjective. Two years ago it was noble numbat, which sounds suspiciously uncute until you google it, and now it's resolute raccoon, which everyone can agree is about as cute as it gets. We've added Ubuntu 26 to our custom VPS OS selection. Since it's so new, it will be a few months before we make it the default though. If you choose any of the VPS options that aren't on the custom page it will continue to build with Ubuntu 24 for now. If you have an existing VPS you can request a free rebuild to try out the new version if you want, but make sure all of your software that you're planning on running supports it. We've also added AlmaLinux 10, Rocky 10, and Debian 13 for the people who prefer those operating systems. Let us know if you have any questions about the new OS options.

[Solved] Account suspended for no reason
astaroth replied to astaroth's topic in Suspended and Queued Accounts
hello, as i said before i didn't know any reason to be suspended, i have jus found out you said my account was using a lot of cpu and memory resources, i haven't been around or login into the account for a while for personal reasons, but i just saw you unsuspended my account which i am grateful for, but i noticed another thing, las time i uploaded any files there were no more than 700mb used from my account i know this because i know about the limit situation leading to a suspension as well so i would like to know if you have a record of the logins recent ones and their IPs and is you can tell me if anyone have uploaded anything in the last month or so , as i said i haven't been around and my website have no reason to create any kind of server load much less for a long period of time, i log into the heliohost account once or maybe twice a month with no actions in there to keep it alive because i received a mail a while back that said if i didn't login at least once a month the account will be suspended so i just do that to protect my account because i need to make some updates to the websites but right now i am going through some personal problems, that is why i find it hard that if you have never seem any movement in my account related to heavy load it suddenly does that and the change in the amount of MB used because as i said i haven't upload any files in like 6 months or so, so if you have any records of that they could help us both find out if my account have been used by a third party with my knowledge, thank you for your time and understanding about all of this, anyway i sincerely apologize for any troubles i may have cause you even by this indirect attacker, but i would like to know about any recent actions inside my account you may have records of specially about FPT uploads, and possible software running because i saw a different left in my account used and if you have a record where was it uploaded so i can go there and remove anything in there, and thank you for unsuspending my account i really had no idea about any of this going on -

[Solved] How to enable rest of SSL certificates of my domain?
wolstech replied to zaisty's topic in Customer Service
Glad to hear. Please let us know if you need anything else. -
As MoneyBroz said, this behavior is by design. If the system is unable to verify that a domain is actually hosted with us, it is disabled to conserve resources. Domains are considered to be hosted with us if: Their A or AAAA record points to our server IP. Their MX is pointed to our server IP. For domains using Cloudflare, they can be validated via DNS if proxy is disabled, or by checking if a challenge file placed on the account by the verification system is reachable via your domain (which proves that the origin is set to us on CF), if the proxy function is used. Note if you use our server for email only, you need to actually put tommy.heliohost.org as the MX for it to validate (email forwarder/mail server proxies are not supported). Since you use cloudflare, you need to make sure that your origin is actually set to our servers, and that the WAF is not set to with rules that could block traffic from our server (e.g. a geo-restriction that blocks the USA would cause validation to fail). Your domains are on CF, have an email forwarding service, and the websites worked for me while disabled in Plesk (which indicates they aren't hosted here), so they are being correctly disabled. I did enable them again for you, but you'll need to actually make one of the changes above to keep them active.

[Solved] How to enable rest of SSL certificates of my domain?
wolstech replied to zaisty's topic in Customer Service
You can reissue the cert manually to add the mail and webmail ones. Note that the webmail one depends on having webmail enabled. If you don't use webmail and didn't enable it, you can ignore it. The wildcard certificate is not supported. -

Domains are automatically disabled if they are not hosted with us (having an A and/or AAAA record pointing somewhere else other than our service) if you are just using our service as an email or database service then an exception can be added to your account in the system so it won't keep disabling your domains. The reason we do this is to try to conserve server resources.

[Solved] Account suspended for no reason
Krydos replied to astaroth's topic in Suspended and Queued Accounts
Between 2026-04-13 05:46:59 and 2026-04-14 05:46:59 your account used 10063.00 CPU. The daily limit on Johnny is 10k, and if you exceed this limit you are suspended. All of your load just comes from PHP and it looks like you're running Laravel. If you need more than 10k CPU per day we recommend upgrading to Morty which allows unlimited CPU. You can move your account at https://heliohost.org/dashboard/move/ if you want to. You may also be able to block bots in .htaccess to reduce your load, or switch to different software, uninstall any unneeded plugins, etc. You should also keep an eye on https://heliohost.org/dashboard/load/ to see your load before you get suspended. When you try to login or go to your website URL and it reads How can you say that is for "no reason"? I feel like that is pretty clear why you were suspended, and it explains the exact reason. If you have any suggestions on how to make it clearer to people that they aren't being suspended for "no reason" we would love to hear it. One idea we're planning on implementing is emailing people when they're close to hitting the limit or when they get suspended. Any other ideas would be helpful though. -
Hello, I want to inquire about my domains (both) being automatically disabled after several days. Why does this happen, and what should I take care of to prevent it from happening again?
