jayant Posted October 14, 2007 Posted October 14, 2007 i uesd to prefer broadband.Really quite good....
AverageJoe Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 I have cable, it works pretty well. I have no problems with it. The T.V. package that comes with it sucks, however. Joe
infinity Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 DSL for me is faster than cable. DSL is also about 30$ cheaper, and cable isn't even that good. -.- DSL for the win.
alhildreth Posted November 7, 2007 Posted November 7, 2007 I have had ADSL for about four years now and I am satisfied with the service and speed. I had dial-up for 15 years. At the beginning the internet was text based through the universities here. When we got ADSL, it was faster than cable because ADSL uses a switched network instead of a token-ring type of network. Since then, the cable company has added fiberoptic as well as cache devices at certain points around the connections, so it is about four times as fast as my connection. I probably won't switch, because I didn't like Time Warner Cable and have gotten satellite TV now. Very seldom do I need the speed on the fiberoptic. So...price vs. speed vs. need -- I'll stick with DSL for now. I have heard they are working on improving speeds as well.
Ddraiggoch06 Posted November 9, 2007 Posted November 9, 2007 I prefer Broadband, it's faster and is very cheap now.
Fly America Virtual Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 i neeeeed Broadband i only have Dial-up, people mock me.... Well You Should Switch Provider's
euler Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 SDSL is still more common in Europe. Short for symmetric digital subscriber line, a technology that allows more data to be sent over existing copper telephone lines (POTS). SDSL supports data rates up to 3 Mbps...
rct Posted January 20, 2008 Posted January 20, 2008 i would prefer broadband, really fast. You can get up to 52Mb/s in the UK on cable but on broadband you can only get 8Mb/s. Cable also has much better upload speeds than ADSL
Amiel Posted January 21, 2008 Posted January 21, 2008 Broadband is the best for me. It give me that satisfaction.
misty Posted January 26, 2008 Posted January 26, 2008 Deffinetly Broadband! I LOVE having FAST internet!!!!!!!
Godhand Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Really stupid question... I think anyone would prefer an *always on, *high speed internet connection. I think most people would. But the truth of the matter is finding websites that can actually handle speeds over one megabyte per second. I mean seriously now the odds from my personal experience is most websites have less then that set up as a soft limit. But I also know that yes you can send files fast to an extremely low amount of websites. I know that sometimes granted I'm lucky I can get up to about 1 megabyte per second download although more often then not I will get about 200-400kilobyte per second download. I believe that high speed internet is almost a must for a web developer. I mean I can only imagine having to upload files for an extremely large amount of time. Oh and no high speed connection is always on because when your provider gets shut down your internet shuts down. Just something to keep in mind.
Teptep Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 For three years now I'm still using a dial-up connection, yes it's slow but I'm happy and contented to it's performance. I still prefer using it because it's cheap.
mr.shu Posted April 21, 2008 Posted April 21, 2008 I'm pretty much straight up broadband; Wanna' try DSL because the upload speed is faster ( I think..) and it would be useful to be able to upload stuff faster then 512 kb/ sec
